Yeah, I like the red huskies. I have only ever seen one in my life, it was the neatest dog I have ever seen.

i love huskies!they are adorable^^i got into loveing them from watching a dog show on TV one year.then after that i got started into reading about them and thats how i found out about wolves and fell in love with them also.

now i own my own husky,his name is walter and he is a blonde and white husky^^

I think it's a great idea that you are going to get a husky. I was going to get one, but it turned out that I got an Alaskan Husky instead! Her name is Kira, here's some pics

Or...if you are REALLY up to it. And you REALLY DESPERATELY want a wolf.. you can have in special occasions. The Wolf Hybrid. But I strongly do not reccommend it.



Ok..here are the following things you want to consider when getting a siberian husky.

They are the "Houdinis" of the world. It doesn' matter if your fence is high, they'll do anything to go around it. Electric fence collar is out of the question, they don't even care about that. So it would be great if you could get a six foot fence, lol! Sometimes you don't though. They are not to be or EVER to be let off the leash. That is a big HUGE no no.

You can let them on your bed, hehhee. I do that.^^ It's cute and cuddely.

You have to brush them a lot, I'm sure you will.

Siberian Huskies- Make sure you find a reputable breeder. Never buy from Puppy mills, or pet shop. Breeders are always the best. My dog Kira comes from a good breeder in Wisconsin. She's part coyote, but I got away with it. Even though it's illegal in CT. w/e

Make sure you take them for LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG walks. xD! I mean, they have so much energy. If you don't take them out enough, no matter how well they are trained. They will go to the bathroom in the house.

Huskys are the smartest dogs since they are most closely related to the wolves. Actually the closest you can get that aren't illegal in any states is the "Utonogan".

Also. You are prolly in a similar situation that I am in. See..since I can't bring my baby with me to college, we have to give her away to a good family. But it's ok, I can still see her when I come back though I will miss her dearly. I am going to afford an apartment and when I do that, I will buy a Bengal. They are the most beautiful cats I've ever seen! And Amazing! take a look.


Since cats are not that hard to take care of. It's a lot more easier for me during college since I will probably still be taking classes, etc...

I'm sure you will find a great Siberian Husky or which ever kind of dog you choose!

Woah how did this old topic get back to life? o.O Honestly, whats so great about Siberian Huskies? There just a dog like any oher dog, so why do people want them so badly? I mean this site is Husky nuts, its starting to scare me a bit.. I'm just confused why everyone wants one. Like 87% of the members on Balto Source want a Siberian Husky. But what about all the other dog breeds? Maybe some of you can find a dog breed that you like even more then a Husky. So do people on Balto Source only want them because of Balto?

Yes, I am aware of that.. but that didn't answer my question "Why do people like Siberian Huskies so much, and whats so great about them?"

I had a Siberian Husky before, there not that great of dogs.
