Deviant-sexual fanfics again : your opinion

Please note that I did not say that. I said it was disowning of responsibility. If the webmaster implements a check system for age, or any form a system that asks the user, and warns the user, then they've taken all precautions they've can, and need to take.

Now, don't get me wrong, a message "This site contains deviant sexual material. Would you like to filter it out, or enable yourself to view it" is laughable for this place. And, should the material not be banned, go ahead and add pornography to that list. I suppose deviant sexual material encompasses pornography, but my point here is that if it's not banned in the fanfictions, it will spread to pictures, and will spread to roleplay.

It already has. I've seen homosexual roleplays by the ton, art about incestuous couples, and one user even had a userbar about a pairing that was adulterous, homosexual, and pedophillic all in one! Now if that's not a warning sign, nothing is.

When I meant "older", I wanted to say : adults or near-adults , I wasn't talking about the registration date.

I think it would be "This site contains unsuitable content for young viewers", which is something you can often see on video games for example...

Err, which majority are you talking about? From what I can see, poll or answers, the visitors are shared 50/50 on the matter. Which IS the real problem. Otherwise the decision would be much easier to make.

I don't think webmasty cares about how far the mind is developed at the teen years. Therefore, he's probably not going to use that as a deciding factor.

Still my point stands. Charles Dickens, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkein... none of the great writers needed base content to be great.

You have a few people voting, and not even that many are telling why they posted. Are you really going to use that as backing?

The way I see it, this site has functioned fine without such material. And right now, there doesn't appear to be much of the material present. Which in itself proves most the the members does not care for the deviant sexual material. The members who don't want the material is clearly the majority. The minority is those who wish to have it allowed. Shame I had to point that out to you, when it's so much implied by your own website and forums.

Edit: And also notice how very few of the voters are participating in the discussion. I do hope you keep that in mind when making a decision.
