Blur wrote: Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling this way, ^^. But yeah, I usually don't have a problem with it, but when I do, I usually just pass it off as I'm getting it for my younger brother or step-sister, XD. However, I really only do this if I happen to pass someone that I know and they give me a puzzled look about what I am buying, especially when bumping into a kid that goes to the same school, >_<. Exactly though, why do people have to care what other people like? That's why I hope I can get into this field once schooling is done with. I'd love to be able to make great movies proudly like Bolt for the rest of my life, <3.
-Blur Same for me, except I don't tend to make excuses if they aren't true. But if you're interested in the entertainment industry, here's a response I have that always works, if the person is of the mind for anything to work at all. I discovered in the course of my writing that what goes into my head tends to come out of my head in what I say, do, and write (and not just fanfiction either). Since my main interest is in books for children and youth (like famous authors C.S. Lewis and Bryan Davis, to name only two), it onl;y makes sense to bone up on material for those age groups. Besides, why read a bunch of hacks who can't last two minutes without gore or other cheap stuff? Yeah, you never know. Personally I'm not a fan of some of the sequels, but they did get rather inventive in The Stone of Cold Fire (since you haven't seen it, I won't give away the ending), and The Great Longneck Migration... well, who cares what people say? It got me.

However, I couldn't get enough of it, so I just went into Wall-mart awkwardly and bought it, XP. I think the clerk thought I was some 18 year old weirdo, ^^". However, when I bought it, I didn't realize that it has a digital copy with it, so I now have the Itunes one, and a disk to get another copy off of Disney, XD. It was worth it though, since it came with a pretty hefty comic book of the entire movie. Fun the draw from too. Anyways, I'm a madman for Bolt. I went to go see it in theaters twice, but never had the chance to do it in 3D sadly. I've become VERY obsessed with the movie since I saw it (and before too, ^^"), and sometimes won't shut up about it. I just think every little aspect is perfect: the hero Bolt, the fact I'm dog crazy, the astounding musical score, the emotion-jerking plot-line, and all the lovable side characters. The music is one of my favorite things from this movie though. I listen to it everyday on the way to school since I lamely bought the soundtrack too, =3. Oh, and from the DVD, the deleted scenes are very sad, D=.

There is one where they were going to have Bolt find out that he wasn't a super hero in a different way, but never made the cut since it didn't flow as good as the final decision that you see in the movie. Bolt was originally going to be begging for food in the alley way from a restaurant in what looked like New York. Well, walking with food in his mouth, two stray thug dogs stop him. Bolt threatens that they don't want to mess with him for he has super powers, but the dogs attack Bolt. There is a lot of fighting and throwing Bolt around like a rag doll as he whimpers and cries. Then he is tossed to the side in a puddle, wiping off his thunderbolt on his side.
Watching this in just stills and stuff made me cry pretty bad, >_<. It was hard to watch him get beaten so badly. On a happier note, I've been thinking of getting some merchandice, but I always feel like a freak or creep walking into Toys R Us to the stuffed animal selection to get a Bolt plush, -_-. I wish people wouldn't care if I liked things sometimes, no matter my age, ;_;. -Blur Well, it is possible to get the DVD without going into the store and having to pay a cashier (a wonderful device known simply as the "Redbox"! XDD It's where I rented the movie from before I bought it. You simply keep it for more than two weeks, and you've basically bought it! ^^ Although... I don't know if that version has the deleted scenes). And I agree... that deleted scene was a good idea, but thinking about the context of the movie, that probably wouldn't have fit as well. Besides, it would've made it a lot more saddening than I think it needed to be. The soundtrack rocks, though! ^^ I bought that off iTunes as well! (I even made a topic about it in the Music section!) As to the plushie... well, I can't help you there. I wanted one myself... but I feel the same way you do about going into Toys R Us... XD I wouldn't know where else to get one. I do like some of these sorts of movies... well, just so long as they don't cheeseball it up too much (which seems to be the case in kids movies I thought I'd like, but didn't, but I've found that Disney, recently, is starting to make movies that both children and their parents will enjoy. You know, movies like Bolt and Finding Nemo) I do like high-action movies, like Lord of the Rings, (just so long as they don't do any gore or excessive blood) so that's part of the reason why I was drawn to it. Very impressed at how they were able to do the kind of action exhibited in the beginning of Bolt while still keeping it to a PG level! Gah, I'm rambling, so I'll stop now. X]

X] Well, buying Bolt at a store wasn't nerve-wrecking since it is more of a family movie and a little more recent. It's just times where I want to go buy, lets say, All Dogs Go To Heaven 2, since it's a little more out of the blue I guess. I always wind getting the thing I came for and I think I've only had one person ask me before what I was doing buying this movie, but I still feel this way sometimes, XP. You're right with the deleted scene though. I still wish there was an alternate option to watch the movie with the deleted scenes added and fully in 3D though, <3. Probably wouldn't make much sense or make it flow weird like you said, but it'd still be fun probably. You made a topic on the soundtrack though, =O!? I can't believe I haven't checked that out yet, ^^. I ordered mine from online through the record store I work at since I like looking at the album book as I listen to it, but the music is amazing nonetheless. I'm getting to the point where I think I listen to the whole thing everyday, XD. I'm getting pretty good at sounding like Travolta too when he sings in "I Thought I Lost You", =P. Don't worry about rambling though, I enjoy having a good discussion on this stuff, =D. I think you bunch are the only people that I'd find that are interested in talking about Bolt maturely anyways, =3. -Blur

Honestly, I think it's lame to let the crowd intimidate you, especially into the realm of watching films more "grown-up" then you prefer. I for one take suggestions from friends, but if I feel like I'm only going to get nausea out of a movie then no amount of peer pressure's going to make me watch it. There are some movies which are a bit young for me, and some call themselves too "mature." Me, I'm not going to buy into that. I watch 24 (PG-14) on a regular basis, and I could be persuaded all the way up to R for the right movie. But I'm not going to let a few taunts of "Oh, what a little preschooler" push me around, and I don't think anybody should.

Well, it's really never been as extreme as you were making it, for me anyways. It's just been more of a self-thought thing I guess. I've honestly been a lot better at just going and buying something like this without these thoughts, but I guess I still have my awkward times. I've never had anyone start calling me names or push me around like you say though. I'm pretty sure if that actually broke out, I'd stand up for myself since the offender must really have a lot of time on his/her hands to push me around over something so pointless. It's just I feel awkward going into a store and buying movies aimed at children sometimes. It's mainly just a quick feeling anyways, like I'll think about it maybe a few steps away from the register or maybe a few seconds in the kid's movie section of the store. This is starting to become a different subject though, I should probably stick to just Bolt, ^^. Hmm, I never had the chance to go see this in 3D, and from what I've heard, it's pretty amazing too, ^_^. I was kind of wondering, does anyone know a way or place I could go watch it still in 3D? The standard version blew my mind, so I can't imagine how good it must be in 3D, =3. -Blur

-Blur They'll probably release a special DVD, just like they did with Spy Kids 3-D.
