I wanted to add that some of them talk about sex and it's not allowed.. And, There's one who remark about the smallest thing we say. For instance, I talked about suicides once and he ordered me to stop and when I asked why it's not allowed he answered me: "Stop now or you're banned". After awhile another girl started to talka about suicides and he didn't remark her. It's not fair!! First, What's the big deal of talking about suicides? Sadly they are part of the things which happen in the world. Secondly, He remarked only to me!

Ok, just like Lux said, we would make sure that you weren't banned out of revenge or anything silly like that, however, we really can't do anything to stop it if you don't work with us instead of against us. Right now, all your saying is 'mods' and/or 'people' are doing these things, but you're not giving any proof, nor are you narrowing anything down for us, so that we can find the culprits and prevent said actions again. If you had some screenshots of this as proof, or if you copied the messages even, that would be a great help. Even the names would help us investigate. You don't have to post them publicly for everyone to see, you can pm them to me and I promise I'll take care of the problem and you'll be safe.

This is in response to the "Blaming the Mods" topic that's on here. I think it gets right to the source of the problem. No, not that people blame the mods too much, but that certain mods will brook no dissent when it comes to their opinions.

I don't blame the mods, in fact, I don't think they're strict enough when it comes to dealing with chronic troublemakers.

But to come in the forum and say something like it's the will of God himself and then lock the topic to prevent any dissent is downright autocratic. You're not a tin-horn dictator, and BaltoSource is not your own personal banana republic. That's what makes people angry. Not that mods ban people, but the fact that they descend from on high to make pronouncements and then don't justify them in the slightest. Actions need to be justified, not simply propped up with, "Well, I said so, end of story!" In the past, I've seen mods who've cussed at people in the forums, made fun of members in the shoutbox, and generally comported themselves in a way inconsistent with being a moderator on BaltoSource. Were these mods reprimanded? No. Were they banned? Oh, no! Did they have their mod status revoked? No sir. They were simply free to go along their merry way.

As to the 'we're only human, we make mistakes' idea, well, there certainly seem to be an awful lot of mistakes being made. With great power comes great responsibility. Mods can't make the same number of mistakes that users do, because they're mods. They're supposed to be the high standard, not just another member who can ban other members at the drop of a hat. Mistakes need to be eliminated, not simply brushed under the rug with kiddy-cussing and arbitrarily locked forum topics. If a mod or mods can't stop making mistakes, then perhaps they don't need to be a mod anymore.
I can't thank you enough for posting this thread, for this is something that has bothered me almost since the VERY DAY I ever arrived here at the site!!! howl.gif I ESPECIALLY agree with you on the cussing/inappropriate language in the shoutbox, because almost EVERY SINGLE TIME I EVER visit that box, it happens both to me AND around me as a whole CONSISTENTLY, and if I ever speak out against them for "not practicing what they preach", guess who gets reprimanded??? ME, and I get ganged up on by virtually ALL of them, too!!!!!! pissedoff.gif Personally, I think that after so much time as being a Mod/Supervisor (EXCEPT for Steet, of course), we should all be allowed to partake in a democratic-style election for who we'd like to "elect"/"re-elect" as a new Mod/Supervisor from the list of new, "campaigning" Mod wannabes every-so-often on the site (think every 2-3 months or so)!!!!! closedgrin.gif What do you all think of THAT brilliant, little idea right there, now??? eyebrow.gif -Charlie. cool.gif

Charlie, I'm afraid that might just turn the job into a popularity contest, much like the campaign for presidency in the United States. Don't get me wrong, I'm an American and proud of it, but there are some major issues with the way we pick our presidents. Moderatorship can't be determined on popularity, it has to be based on ability, which is the way Steet chooses now. It's the best way.

Ther'e a mod who always picks my posts on forums and remarks me about NOTHING! For instance, I wrote a comment of "ohh..It's annoying" and she told me it is a spam and it's not! when i argued with her everybody flamed me and why? Because they were angry that i argued with a mod.. only because she is a mod..and it's Yupik and I know that many don't like her... Her pots are also short and she remarked me for my short posts...
So you mods are all inflated heads(not all of them but some of them) and think you are better than everyone because of your jobs..some of you don't even deserve to be mods because you break rules constantly.. Ban me now, I don't care..i feel like I needed to say what I think about you....

Gold Kitty, not all of us are like that. You can't judge all of us by how some of us act. And yes, I know you and Yupik don't get along, and I can see how you both act toward each other. Sometimes you're right, sometimes she's right, sometimes you're both varying degrees of right and/or wrong. However, picking at each other won't help anything, and I know she picks back at you.

But that's just one mod. You keep saying that you've seen other mods curse and speak about sexual topics, etc. Please, tell us who was doing this, when (if you can remember) and what they were saying. You won't be penalized.

No, I didn't know the whole time, I just recently found out because I went back and read old messages. But, Gold kitty, I didn't do anything because you were both bickering with each other equally. You both picked on each other to the same degree. Besides, Lux has already told you all to cut it out, so I figured that I didn't need to echo his words. If you want me to say then I'll say it, both of you need to quit picking at each other and if she says something mean to you then the best thing you can do is just ignore her instead of arguing back and starting a fight. Yeah, I know it's hard to ignore someone when they're being mean, but at least that way you aren't doing anything wrong and only the other person will be reprimanded, understand?

As far as what kind of mod am I, well, I don't leave that up to myself to say. Others say I'm pretty good, but I guess that's their opinion. At any rate, I've always tried to be fair and objective about everything. Personally I don't care if you say I'm not right for the job; maybe I am, maybe I'm not, but that's Steet's job to decide. I'm primarily the mod for only the roleplaying forums, but I do frequent the shout boxes to help there. I don't appreciate you attacking my integrity just because I didn't warn either of you, especially since this is pretty much the only time you've talked to me. Why don't you calm down and learn a little more about me before rushing to conclusions? If you can do that, I promise I'll do exactly the same.

As to why you should post here, it would be proof to everyone that you do indeed have proof of wrong doing by those moderators. You could show everyone when, where, and what happened and revealing it publicly would be safer for you, in my opinion at least. However, if you still don't want to say in front of everyone else because you fear unjust banning (which I will reiterate will not happen under my watch) then you can simply pm the information to me.

I'm not trying to insult you or anything else, I'm just trying to get to the bottom of everything in a calm, rational way and I'm also trying to remain objective and not let my own opinions or emotions cloud my judgement. Please just make things a little easier on me and let me know what you know, that way I can do something?

I am going to say this once and for all.

Please do not post about mods apparently breaking the rules unless you actually have some sort of solid proof. If the mods are so bad for breaking rules, one who witnesses a rule breaker but doesn't report it is just as bad as the offender. It's tiring to pop into a thread complaining about moderators breaking rules that have no real evidence of such occurrences, and pretty irritating when the poster is questioned about it and either responds hostilely or vaguely.

No,not really.I just want the proof.Take a screenshot.The best thing is if someone's breaking the rules-mod or not-should be reported.It's easy.

Quoted for truth.
