The Lion King - Overrated?

Maybe the songs are childish because most movies produced by Disney are geared toward children.

I personally have no grudge against The Lion King. Yeah, it copied some stuff off of Kimba. Yes, Kimba sounds like Simba (but, as someone has already mentioned, Simba = Lion in Swahili). But, the point is, both the movie and the tv show are great in my opinion. Kimba even has a movie (Jungle Emperor Leo).

I seriously don't know why people make such a big deal out of this stuff. If Disney won't admit borrowing some of Kimba's attributes, then no amount of posts made by people on Balto Source will change the mind of one the biggest corporations in the United States. The point is, Kimba and TLK both have a common basis- Hamlet. Perhaps this is why they have so many similarities.

Oh, come on. This is a perfectly fine topic. It's perfectly within the rules of the forums and it isn't hurting anyone. I may be a Balto fan myself, but if someone flames Balto, I don't take it personally, which is what you need to stop doing. For the sake of an interesting debate, please.

You were never flamed, Tani. You are simply overreacting. But yes, I think The Lion King is overrated, but that's just me. I love the movies too, but I'm no dedicated fan (Baltosource takes up too much of my time xS).
