Yes wolves are very misunderstood and people make tons of myths of what they do.I saw a site one day and it said that you must drink from a pond/river that a wolf has drank out of to become a werewolf.That is another wolf myth.We have no evidence that werewolves are real so the chances of werewolves being real is one in a million.That is just another wolf myth.You don't get bit by a wolf and then become a werewolf.Also the Wolf Spider got its name from the myths people say wolves do because Wolf Spiders are poisoness.
