I looked at the item's page on Amazon.com and I saw a two star review. The author of the review didn't hate the films (they actually said that they were the three of the best animated films ever made), but they were upset at the fact that the films weren't widescreen.
Whilst I agree with Balto only being in fullscreen, An American Tail and The Land Before Time both have a 1:37:1 aspect ratio, so therefore you see more picture on home video than on the silver screen. But that's not the problem.
The author didn't actually own the pack, and was just judging it from the cover and aspect ratios. I'm worried that someone will be scrolling through Amazon, see the two star rating and be deterred from buying it...

That only applies to impulse buyers though. I believe many people go to Amazon with their heart already set on something.
And really, why buy a movie off of Amazon when you can just walk into Wal-Mart or Target and get it free of shipping? That's where the majority of the pack's revenue will come from IMO.

Of course, although this only works when you find it easily in local stores - which wasn't the case for the previous Balto dvds. I don't know if this one is easy to find, I believe that probably yes as it was recently released.

Ooooh yeah, I saw this in HMV. It looks good but I don't like The Land Before Time series.

I love the first Land Before Time (the sequels sucked though). An American Tail, IMO, is not really what I'd call a family movie though.

I admit that I haven't watched it for a long time and I can't remember it very well, but I found it to be a nice family movie. It's a pleasant film, but young children would probably be bored by it - it's more for older children. I didn't enjoy it until I was about eight or nine.
