my friends call it American anime. it dose use a slightly different style, but still has some anime fetures. but it is definetly one of the best American made shows on T.V.

Meh, I can't stand American anime. It's not that I'm some otaku (person who thinks the Japanese are an evolved species), it's...
When something immitates something else, it ends up just being an inferior duplicate. Avatar was based off of the typical Japanese anime art style and does not pull it off as well.
Avatar would have been a lot better if it had done it's own, well-done art style as Balto and most Disney films have.
