Yeah. In the book version (in which the film was adapted from), there was another young buck, but he was a friend of Bambi and Faline . . . or a relative of some sort. His name wasn't Ronno though, but I remember that he was made into a human's pet or something . . . . I need to reread that book . . . .
Heck, I don't know if Ronno was even in the book; he was probably a created character for Bambi to fight with.

I was actually hoping Gobo would be in Bambi 2 instead of Ronno though . . . that would have been interesting to see. (Actually when I first saw a screenshot of young Ronno, I thought he was Gobo!)

my friend downloaded it and sent it to me
cute movie! i fully enjoyed it. my fiance loved all the screencaps i made of the great prince. he said he loved how he looked so magestic.
the only thing i did'nt like was the forced kiss between bambi and faline, i dont really know why exactically.
but i was accually almost at the edge of my seat with the field sceen.

Well, actually, I was watching the original Bambi DVD, and it had this sort of commentary thing, but it was the makers of the original Bambi talking about how they would make Bambi, and they mentioned Ronno. Oh, and they were GOING to show Bambi's mother shot, but the decided it wasn't necesarry because her death was already heavy enough.

Hmm, that is interesting.
I don't have the Bambi DVD (yet), but I'm surprised that his name wasn't in the movie, but was in the storybook adaptations of it . . . odd.
And that second thing makes sense. I mean think about it: seeing Bambi crying for his mother and not getting an answer is just plain . . . sad. Showing her death would have destroyed the mood a bit IMO . . . so good choice to not show it.

I really liked the music for Bambi 2 but I can't believe the idiots made the movie about bambi as a kid again there was no need for it, personally I thought bambi was perfect with just the one but then again the same could be said about Balto, but there are so many movies that go back to the main characters childhood and I'm getting sick and tired of it, doing that completely destroys the ending of the first movie.
That is a very good question Vikingwolf, I only noticed that when I read your reply, Hmm...

I hear you. They are DESTROYING what the main idea for the story is about. If they wanted a sequel, they should have done it, more like 62 YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!! Bad timing!

I loved Bambi 2, but I agree that they shouldn't have made Bambi look like he died at the end. There was no need for that. I also noticed how they copied some things the characters did in the original and put them in this one. For example:
1. Ronno uses his antlers to try to push Faline away from Bambi
2. When Bambi and Ronno fight, Ronno pushes Bambi to the ground and tries to stomp on him with his hooves, but Bambi gets out of the way.
I'm pretty sure there are more, but I can't think of any..
