Sorry I don't feel like reading everything. XP Yes my bad, lazy GK, but here's my two cents.

Referencing a pose is different from copying a pose. If someone copies a pose exactly that is stealing. Referencing is good, I use reference a lot but I don't copy the pose. It's ok to copy say a hand position or something but don't take the whole pose. Change it, even if it's a little change like moving the leg position or head position.
Granted there are some poses, mainly boring ones like standing/walking/running side poses, that are always going to be used and will be exactly, or almost exactly the same. Even if the two artists have never seen each others work. That does happen, not a whole lot, but once in a while.

What about if be find a pic from the lion king and make a dog in that pose?Would that be rejected?

In fact there are quite a lot of his pics that are just cut out screenshots with shading put on..

AC Klaus is a renown Balto Artist and I assure you those are not 'cuts' in fact if you saw the 'uncut' versions of that art. You find their is a bit more. Klaus cut that art like that for a reason and the reason was to be able to put that on the site because the uncut versions of those images are not exactly PG. You also draw screen shots so I do not see what is so wrong with his screen shot references. The man is decent enough to at least censor his work and put it on here so children do not see.

I don't want to see his 'uncut' versions because that is just wrong.. but that is not what I am saying. By cut out I mean an original frame from the movie with Steele in, and he has removed Steele from the background, not drawn it, not used it for reference.

Yes he is a good artist, yes he has used screenshots as reference in many of his pics which he has drawn but..

If you look at those links you can see where he has simply removed the images from a background taken from a screen shot. How do I know? Well the outlines of these cutouts are jagged and you can see parts of the background his has missed, it is also blocky and pixelated where he has enlarged the image which doesn't have the pixel resolution in the first place. If it was a scanned drawing and digital colouring he would have the resolution to make it what ever size smoothly. All he has done to claim it as his own 'art' is add some shading to it, a new background and 'Steele', nothing more.

I knew this would be touchy and I am not claiming all his art is this, just about 50% of it. Anyone familiar with computer art packages should be able to see this.

Yes in the past he did cut quite a few screen shots and just alter them. I remember back on Balto Central something about it came up one time. If anything they could be moved to the fan images section.
