Your right about what? Anyway Charcoal witch is pumped into the dog will help take in the theobromine so that there is less in the dog to kill it.

But ot can also irritate the GI tract and in some dogs can cause internal bleeding and death at a later date.

That's why it's bad for dogs. They shouldn't be eating chocolate in the first place.

And I've said that lets play it safe and not give them chocolate.

Thats debateable. But you said that basicly a little chocolate would kill a dog. And me and chasity have been saying that it varies from weight to the amount of theobromine in the chocolate.

Chocolate contains theobromine. A natural stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. While amounts vary by type of chocolate, it's the theobrominethat is poisonous to dogs.Chocolate can kill dogs, You might disagree, thinking back to a time when you noticed a dog enjoying a tidbit of chocolate with no deleterious effect.

Don't be fooled. eyebrow.gif

The problem, according to veterinary experts, is that eating a
speck of chocolate leads a dog to crave more. It can mean that
your dog will jump at a opportunity to get any type of chocolate,
not knowing that certain chocolates are more lethal than other types.
Larger amounts of chocolate, particularly of the most
toxic type, can bring about epileptic seizures in some dogs, and
in all dogs, can kill.

Only reason I know this is because my friends toy dog got into a lethal amount of chocolate and nearly died, we gave her diluted mustard and even though she threw it up she still had problems with seizures to the end of her days.

That's almost the exact same thing I've been saying. But it can also cause internal bleeding.

That's also what I've been trying to say. You shouldn't give your dog Chocolate or Candy.

Chocolate can serve as a medical tool for dogs. Though it has only been proven in one case:

My cousin's dog ate some rat poison. I knew that a lot of chocalate could kill a dog, but a little would make them throw up or have the runs. So I assumed that if the dog ate a little bit of chocalate, it would throw up the rat poison and the chocalate. So I told my cousin to feed the dog a little bit of chocalate. I'm pretty sure that dog is still alive.

That wasn't the best idea to give a sick dog chocolate. He should have contacted a vet immediately and made his dog throw up. Chocolate might make them throw up but, not immediately.

Emily's right, you could have made your dog sicker or worse you could have killed your dog.

The best thing for a dog that has eaten poison is to go to the vet where they will pump charcoal it them. The charcoal will react with the poison and render it useless.
