Hmm, interesting topic. From what I've read in my many various wolf books, wolves only seldom attack humans unless they feel threatened, but a wolf actually killing someone has yet to be heard. True, a wolf may attack a human if it feels threatened or provoked, but wolves only ever kill that they eat or other wolves that try to mate when they enter the breeding season if they aren't the Alpha pair. I may be wrong about a wolf killing someone, but from all the books I've read, no wolves killing humans have ever been recorded.

Yes, that is an interesting topic. See I'm doing a report on wolves in my Language arts class. We are supposed to find out all we can about our favorite animal and make it into a report. From most of the research I've done, I have not seen anything about a wolf ever killing someone. I have read about a wolf killing another wolf, and most of the time they hunt but that's a need. Seldom do wolves attack humans, much less kill them.

But the question of the topic was 'Are wolves killers?'
We've already answered this, no, they are predators. A killer is someone who has done their deed out of choice, not out of survival instincts.
It doesn't really concern whether wolves have killed humans. It's not as if every day we hear about a thousand humans being killed by wolves. It's a minor and rare thing that mostly occurs in sick wolves. [/b]

Techinically speaking, no. Wolves are not killers. They only attack humans if they feel threatened or if they are sick. They are predetors, they have to hunt for thier survival. And they usually don't attack humans for food. Which is basicallty what Starsky said.

Hollywood can turn just about anything into a killer. Bees, worms, bats, ants...you name it.
So, because of movies and fiction, wolves and other related species have been portrayed as blood-thirsy maneaters when they really aren't. Unfortunately, most people don't understand that, and therefore fears wolves. In fact, wolves would rather stay away from humans and where they live to prevent confrontation. They are more scared of us than we are of them. Humans are a threat to many animals because of hunting, pollution, poaching and roaming into their territory. So, truthfully, we're invading them, and they have every reason to be afraid of an unknown species in their territory.

Wolves are killers, but we are killers, too. They kill animals, we kill animals. We kill our own species, and they kill their own species.
The onlt reasons wolves attack humans is because they are sick, think they are in danger, or feel threatened.

They're most certainly capable of killing you if they're hungry.

No sane animal is "Evil." It is humans who evoke most problems and strife in the world... or so I believe....
Anyway, no I don't agree with that. Take the wolf's view as yourself. I fyou saw some big two-legged thing coming to you, what would you do? Maybe growl a bit as a warning, but you'd probably retreat, wouldn't you? Wolves - sane ones, meaning ones that aren't diseased or disturbed in any way - wouldn't want anything to do with humans if we would just keep our distance from them.

There is one kind of wolf that is dangerous to human beings:
Canis lupus familiaris - Domestic Dog
No other wolf has ever hunted down and killed a human being.
There are some incidents where a wolf has attacked human being, but they have an actual reason:
*A wolf once picked a fight with some huskies and their owner tried to break it up by grabbing the wolf by the scruff of its neck. The wolf bit him in self-defense.
*A hunter soaked in deer-scent was attacked, but the wolf ran off after realising its mistake.
