Definetely. Vets and other dog experts will recommend them. I can't believe how much stereo-typing is going on... I HATE stereo-typing..

Note how you cannot come up with the websites that Emily requested.

"It is a common misconception that these collars work because of the choke action. When in fact they opperate mostly by sound. When a trainer gives a command to stop, it is quickly followed by a tug of the lead. This tug action brings the chain links through the main ring sounding like a loud zipper. This is why it is so important to keep the lead loose while walking! If the lead is not loose the collar will be closed and not be able to make a sound resulting in nothing more than a tugging struggling dog and frustrated walker. "

It also talks about the Prong collar that pinches the dogs neck.

Prong collars are better then Choke Collars. They look bad
But they hurt less then Choke collars

I have one of those and it works really good. I asked the people at the pet store and they said to put it on my arm and pull it, and it didn't hurt. Plus dogs have stronger skin then us and it would hurt less on them. If your dog yelps, it is just from shock. They do work good for puppies or even older dogs in training.

It causes minimal pain, it's like spanking your kid.
