"Let me guess, most of you got skunked this morning? I can still smell the tomatoes." said Kira. "I'm assuming theses pups are a pawful huh? I can see that one is agressive." she said, pointing to Kai. "And the ones that just left are adventerious. And I'm guess by his reaction to his sisters going hunting, he's not too fond of blood." she said, pointing to Cachen.
"True but lets try to kill whatever we find as bloodlessly as possible." said Lena. "For Cachen's sake."

"Last night," said Kodi, looking at Cachen still. "Yes, they're a bit of a pawful, but; they're mine, and Katie's." he wondered if Kira had been around long enough to hear of his mate's pack.
Kai blinked. "You hit the nail on the head." he said, looking a bit embarassed at being called aggressive.
Tai nodded, starting to sniff at den knot-holes.

Kira sniffed them. "You smell like a wolf pack I've met before." she said. "Two in fact. "Are you related to that nice Aniu? She saved me when a hunter did this." she said, moving the fur covering where her eye had been to show a rather nasty looking shotgun scar. "She sure knew her herbs, I wish I could've met her again but I heard of her fate from another pack who you also smelled like. I never repayed that debt."
"I'm afraid of blood." said Cachen, embearessed.

"She's my grandmother." said Kodi, motioning towards Balto. "That's her son." he looked behind to Cachen, smiling lightly. "I know, it's alright." he said, trying to reassure his son.
Kai stood up slowly. "Another pack? Did you ever see the alpha?" he asked, for some reaosn he wanted to know more now.

"Yes." said Kira. "His name was Bashkei." she said. "He and his mate were good friends of mine, and they had such a cute little girl last I saw them, do you know them? Are they doing well?" she asked, not knowing both Bashkei and his mate where dead.
"Be careful not to attack a skunk." said Lena, joining her sister's search.

Kai took a shapr intake of breath. "Bashkei and Lenatei were my Grandparents...their daughter is my Mother." he said, eyes widening at the chance to figure out more of his family.
Kodi gulped. "Lenatei died about a year before Bashkei was presumably shot, and died of bloodloss." he said, still feeliong a pang of guilt for taking Katie away.

Kira lowered her head in respect for her friends. "At least Katie is safe, that little pup brought those two so much joy, I know they would've wanted her to live no matter what happened to them." she said. She then realized something. "Katie is your mate and theses pups mother? That means...that means she's sick and might...die?" she said, not wanting to upset the pups but needing to get it off her chest.
"Tai! I fond something!" said Lena and pulled out a still squirming rabbit. She bit its neck and broke it, trying to kill it without causing bloodloss.

Kai nodded, eyes closing for a brief moment. "What about my Grandparents? What can you tell me about them?' he asked. He'd never have the chance to know them, until he was dead himself.
Tai grinned, looking down the hole. "Oh, wow!" she brought her head bakc up, prodding the lifeless body with her nose. "It's plump and rabbit meat is so much better for little teeth hm?" she grinned. "You remember when Momma gave us our first meat, Lena?"

"Well your grandmother was the sweetest thing I've ever met." said Kira. "She was just one of those wolves who had a smile that could light up the darkest cave." she said.
"Yeah...I also remember Cachen's first sight of blood." said Lena, shivering at the thought, Cachen had gotten so sick.

Kodi nodded with Kai. "Then I see where my Katie gets it." he smiled lightly, thinking of his mate. The smile faded as he felt a sharp stab of pain for his mate, perhaps she was in pain right now...
Tai nodded, shuddering. They had all cried for him. But no matter how hungry or thirsty Katie was, she stayed by Cachen day and night.

"Then there was Bashkei." said Kira and then chuckled. "Now there was an agreesive wolf. I've seen wolvirines back down from him! Though of course he had a soft side when it came to his pup and mate, I can tell you he was a good family wolf, a tag overprotective though. I've got scars from the first time we met when he didn't know I was a friend of his wife."
Lena nodded. "Poor Cachen, it must be hard to be him."

Kodi nodded, giving a light laugh. "He nearly killed me when he saw me with his daughter." he remembered, the light in Bashkei's eyes, the hatred, the same hatred for dogs and humans Kira had.
Kai smiled widely, his eyes lighting up. "wait; you've been here for how long?" he asked, looking confused. "you knew my Grandmother before my GrandFather did?"
Tai nodded. "But we're trying to help him, and we love him. That's something."

"I've been here since I was a kitten and tht was about 10 years ago, Tigers have longer life spans than canines." said Kira. "Some even say we have nine lives." she said. "And I believe you when you say Bashkei attacked you, he was very protective of his little north star as he sometimes called her."
OOC: Thought I'd give Katie a reason to refer to Cachen as her little north star.
"Yeah." said Lena. "IS this enough meat?"

Kai looked to Cachen. "The word he used, was it any variation of 'Cachen'?" he asked, wondering if he used a word, or just called her 'North Star'.

Kodi chuckled. "No wonder she was so fond of the name." he said to himself.
Jenna smiled lightly, looking a bit sad. Happy her grandson was knowing what he wanted to know. She nuzzled Balto lightly.

Balto nuzzled Jenna, he wished the girls would get back, he liked meeting Kira but they needed to go.
