"Just bats?" Setsuko echoed softly, thoroughly confused. "Are you positive you don't mean wolf-bats? I've never heard of something being just a bat."

"I've never heard of a wolf-bat before either," Rue said. "Until now that is," she added.

Setsuko rolled her eyes. "Whatever." Could Rue's world get any weirder? Oh well.

"You don't beleive me?" RUe asked, noting Setsuko's exaggerated eye-roll, and the "Whatever" that followed it.

"No, I don't," Setsuko said, slightly impatiently. "But let's move on to another topic." Fighting was the last thing they needed right now.

"Fine," Rue sighed. Suddenly, she was filed with a jolt of excitement. "Tariq!" she cried out, seeming randomly as the image of his face sharpened in her mind. Mor ememories rushed in, taking place in her mind once more.

"What?" Exclaimed Setsuko, surprised at Rue's sudden outbreak. "What's a tariq?"

"Tariq is the guy with bat-wings!" she declared excitedly. "I just remembered!" With the memories came the feeling of unbidden love, making her more homesick than beore.

"Oh!" Said Setsuko, brightening. "Good thing you remembered his name. Now if he shows up in your dreams again, you can mention him by name." She smirked a bit teasingly, and then sighed. "I would probably go crazy if I forgot Kuilak's name." She mumbled to herself. Her face suddenly turned to a slight expression of shock, surprised that she said that out loud.

"I guess I'm going crazy then, cause I feel the same way about Tariq," she said, trying to smooth over the awkward moment.

Setsuko blushed slightly, but was glad that Rue understood her feelings in some way. Then she remembered her dream. "Uh, Rue?" She began awkwardly, not entirely sure about whether or not she should tell Rue about her parent's visit, but maybe the winged girl could help her figure out what 'learn' meant. "I had a dream last night too."

"What was it?" Rue asked curiously.

Setsuko took a deep breath. "I...I saw my parents last night...in my dream," She stuttered. "A...and my mother came up to me a...a...and hu..." She tried to choke the words out around the sadness that was building up inside her. "Well, anyway, she t...told me to believe in dreams, and the said 'learn'." Setsuko hoped there was no edge to her voice as she spoke of the moment. "And then my father t...told me to 'learn' as well, and then th...they faded."

Rue heard the sadness in Setsuko's voice, and noticed her stammer. She put a hopefully comforting arm around Setsuko's shoulders.

Setsuko took another deep breath and gently removed Rue's hand from her shoulder. "The only problem is," She continued, "Is that I can't figure out what they meant by 'learn'. Do you have any ideas?"
