Mr. simpson nodded, pattign Balto's head before making his way to the sled, trying to find a map of the area.
Kai nodded, before looking around, his eyes hard. "It's here, somewhere." he murmurs to himself.

Balto was keeping vigalent for whatever was out there. He didn't want it to sneak up on them.
"Just keep an eye out, we don't want it sneaking up on us." said Lena. "Whatever it is, I don't like it."

Jenna looked concerned. If this thing harmed Kodi or Fang, or Balto...or the pups. Jenna felt the old sinew tensen at the thought.
Kai grinned smugly, the fur on his neck rising slowly.
"No," said Kodi, looking at his son.

Suddenly something big jumpped out of the trees and smacked Samson with its paw and enough strength to knock him a few feet but not meant to kill. The big cat looked at the dogs. "Well well what have we here? You mutts don't read sighs very well do you?" she asked. "The rangers put the warning sigh back there for a reason." she said, snarling.
Lena hid behind Kodi, frightened, pulling Kai with her. Cachen did the same with Tai.

Mr. simpson grunted as he landed in the snow, knocked senseless.
Jenna gasped, tensening herself as she saw her Grandchildren hide behind Kodi. She looked back at her own bewildered son.
Kai's eyes widened, but, he looked to his siblings and glared. "How can we?!" he cried, growling. "There was a sign, covered in layers of frost and ice!" he tore away from Lena, making himself known.
Tai gasped, getting close to Kai and her Father, eyes shut tight.

The tiger's face suddenly softened. "I didn't know you had pups with you." she said. "I have...quite a softspot for little ones." she said before regaining her composser. "What are you doing on my territory? I hate sled dogs, just to make things clear, every year they scared off my game until I started mawling people, then they put that sigh up."

Kai smirked, easily getting out of his harness. "Hate to bother your story, ma'am..." he said, stretching lightly. "But, we have a deadline, and I won't let my Mother die because of you!"

The tiger softened again. "Your mother? I was under the impression that one was your mother, I see I am mistaken." she said, pointing to Jenna. "Oh I am Kira by the way." she said. "One of you adults, tell me what is wrong with theses young ones mother?"
"Dad, what is she?" asked Cachen to Kodi.

Kodi shook his head at his son, before looking up at Kira. "My mate is ill. There's an illness going around, it only attacks purebreds, including wolves. She'll die if she doesn't get the medicine in Juneau."

Kira rubbed the back of her head with her paw. "Well this is akward." she said. "Alright I'll asume pups are sick too?"
Fang nodded. "Yes, some younger than theses." he said.
"Well since its like that way, I guess you've got good reason to come through here and since the sigh was covered with snow, I guess I can let it slide." said Kira. "But you've got to help me." she said. "Hunting has been pretty poor recently, if you've got any meat to spare, can I please have a piece? And its not for me." she said. She went over to a den near by and lifted the brush off it to show a litter of Mountain Lion kittens. "Orphans, I took them in, I told you I have a soft spot for little ones. I can bearly catch enough to feed myself because of sled dogs scaring the deer off."

Tai blinked softly, and just as easily as her brother, slipped from the harness. She had an overwhelming feeling that she was safe, and padded over to the little kittens. A look of severity went over her face. "I'll do you one better, Lena, can you come with me?" she asked, looking back at her sister and her confused Father.
Kai smiled lightly, sitting himself down upon the ground slowly. He had a feeling what Tai had in mind.

Kodi blinked, coming forward sheepishly. "I am." he said, still watching if Cachen hid behind him.
Tai looked a Lena oddly. "What did you call her?" she asked, continuing to walk. "We're smaller, we can search in places Kira can't."
