Arthur's Brest froze and he frowned.
"But..Riley.." he practically whimpered. Alfred watched her go, before looking back at Arthur.
"Dude..they all leave at one point!" The american said, clapping Arthur reassuringly on the back. Arthur sighed, wrapping his arms aroun himself.
"I just got her back, now she is gone again."

It's not that I didn't love Arthur, heck, I loved him more than anything in the world. I just needed time, by myself. What a sh*tty person I was, I know. Arthur needed me there for him, and I left. I shook my head as I walked deeper into the city with my bag gently hitting the side of my thigh. I looked all around, then saw a nice little hotel. I checked in the small, cozy-looking place and got a room for a few nights. Only like 4 days, just enough time to get my head straight. As I walked in the small bedroom I felt a lonlyness creep up on my. I sighed and threw my clothes down on the bed. I remembered I had work in the morning, but that's just what I needed. No surprise visits from Alfred, demanding free burgers from the McDonalds I worked at, although I enjoyed that a lot...No sudden appearanced from Arthur, walking up the the counter and acting like a stranger, solmnly ordering a iced tea and walking to my favorite booth until I could take my lunch break...I enjoyed that too. I sighed, frustrated and went to take a shower. The hot water felt good on my back and seemed to relaxe me. When I got out I brushed my hair and went to bed, trying hard not to think about Arthur.

A week passed by slowly and dreadfully. Arthur became a pain to be around, well not to Alfred because he loved him, but simply to everyone else. He went back to not smiling, only t Alfred, for whom he'd grown more fond of.
Alfred sighed, looking down at his half-eaten burger from McDonalds, and pushed it away, causing the ill-tempered Brit to look up.
"What on earth has gotten you In such a rotten mood?" Arthur asked, setting his pen down. Christmas eve was tomorrow, and he'd already gone shopping, and had Alfred bug him about what he got him all afternoon.
"You won't tell me what you want for christmas! Iggggyyy!" The American whined.

Ooc: Are they at McDonalds?

A week had passed, I was meaning to return Christmas eve, but it was just around the bend...And I still didn't want to go back. I didn't know why, but it felt kind of nice, being away from all of the drama...I leaned against the McDonald's counter, my elbow resting on it and the heel of my hand pulling the right corner of my lips into a scowl. I looked at the passing people, took a a couple of orders, gave a few Happy Meals. That's when I saw them come into the resturaunt. I'd hidden while they ordered, made up some excuse to work the drive through. But I only ended up leaving my station for a few minuets while they ordered. I wanted to stay in the Drive-Thru booth, so I wouldn't have to see them. But soon enough one of my co-workers showed and it was her turn to work the Drive-Thru. I scowled at her then returned to my old post. Seeing them sitting at a table made my heart ache. I clenched my jaw and didn't realize that someone had ordered a Big Mac, until they were yelling at me.
"Sorry" I mummbled to them, writting down their order and collecting their money. I looked back over at them and felt small tears form in my eyes.

Arthur sighed, looking down at the small snack wrap he'd ordered.
"I'm not telling you! Now hush, and eat your food." He said, taking a small bite from the wrap. Alfred groaned, and ate the last bite of his burger, before standif.
"I'm dooone Iggy!" The american said, showing Arthur his tray. The Brit looked up through his reading glasses, and sighed, standing as well. He stacked up the paper he'd been working on, and shoved it in his coat pocket, before pushing his chair in.
"Let's go then."

I heard him say that they should go, I made a small sound in the back of my throat. Maybe in portest, but then took someone elses order. I frowned at them, missing both of them despratly. Yeah, I go home tommarow. But I'd need a present...Something the'd both like...I thought of the perfect present and grinned. I looked at them again, then felt the same pain. I missed Arthur so much.

Arthur sighed as they walked through the door, smelling the tea he'd left on th counter. He quickly went and made himself a cup, before Alfred plopped down beside him on the couch.
"HEY IGGY. 'm hungry." He said, and Arthur groaned.
"Alfred, we JUST ate supper!" the Brit exclaimed, rolling his eyes.

After work I csught the bus down to the shelter. The inside of the animal shelter was big and grey. Cement walls lined the kennels, hidden where barking dogs, despratly wanting a second chance at life. I frowned, wanting to take them all home, but walked past them to the cat section. I remembere Arthur saying something about liking really fluffy cats, this would make him smile. I looked at all of the cats and finally saw the perfect little kitten. It was a white tabby with grey paws and crystal blue eyes. I adopted that one and held it firmly to my side as I walked back to the hotel.

"But.." Alfred began, before Arthur cut him off.
"No. Buts." He growled, tossing a glare at the frowning American. In no time at all, it was time fir bed, and Arthur crawled under the thick comforters, sighing as he fell into a dreamless sleep. He awoke suddenly wen Alfred had him pinned on the bed, and light was shining through the windows.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE IGGY!" Alfred squeaked, making Arthur groan.
"Yes, happy Christmas to you too Alfie." He said, giving the American a light hus before crawling out from under the covers. He padded downstairs to see a mound of food, scones and bacon and eggs, cinninom buns and all the other breakfast foods.
"I made breakfast!" Alfred chimed excitedly, thrusting a cup of tea into Arthur's hands.

It was the next morning, I'd named the little kitten Benjamine, but called it Bunny for short. Bunny squeaked in my hands as I walked the familiar route to Arthur's house "You'r going to meet your new daddy" I told it, Bunny squeeked again. I smiled at the little kitten the arrived at the house. My heart froze, did I really want to go in? I grimmaced, but knocked on the door.

Arthur was in the middle of scolding Alfred for using his kitchen while he was asleep, he could've burned the house down, when they both perked at the knock on the door. Arthur frowned, and stretched, walking over to the door. Alfred followed, and when Arthur opened the door he nearly jumped out of his PJ's in excitement.
"Riley.." Was all Arthur said, his expression blank as he looked at his lover.

I stumbled for words, my breath catching "I-I got you this fluffy cat, cuz' you said you liked cats and I wanted to give you it. His name is Benjamine, but I call him Bunny cuz' he's fluffy. I-I missed you...And I-I wanted to come back, but I felt bad that I didn't get you anything, so I got you this cat..And, Oh God, I'm sorry Arthur, I was a b*tch, and a horrible person and I just want to come back..I miss you so much, life isn't even life without you...Ugh..I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." I said quickly, more like rambling on and on. I frowned and stuffed Bunny in Arthur's hands.

Arthur blinked, then took the kitten, before Pettit it lovingly. Alfred stood awkwardly in the background, staring atthe cat.
"Welcome home Riley." Arthur said with a small laugh, hugging her lightly. He closed the door behind her as she walked in, rubbing Bunny's ears between his two fingers. Alfred dragged Shay over, and the dog sniffed Bunny curiously, before giving the cat a good lick an then going to lay down. Alfred pulled Bunny from Arthur's hands, and went to play with it while Arthur talked to Riley.
"Riley, I want to say I understand why you left." he began.

"Don't" I said simply, I frowned a bit and took a breath.
"I don't even understand why I left, so just don't" I said. Looking at my feet.

Arthur smirked, holding his arms out for a hug, until he heard Alfred yelp, "NO SHAY!" Arthur rushed into the loving room to see the dog licking Bunny's stomah furiously.
"Alfred..what on earth is your dog doing?" The Brit asked, scooping up the kitten and holding it close to his chest.
