"So?" snapped Carmen. "Love isn't real." She let her gaze fall to the ground, but it still kept its evil, hard glare. "It never lasts anyway... never."

Carmen shot him back a glare. "Is it?" she argued. "It won't last. It's a freaking drug; you use it, you like the feeling and it feels real, then it just falls apart. Guaranteed."
Kyler shuffled uncomfortably in her spot, rubbing up and down her arms.

Carmen narrowed her eyes at Chase and Dymitri. "You're not even listening." she said. "Don't you get it? The ones who hurt you the most are the ones who promised they never would!" Her voice was getting weaker in tone.
Kyler relaxed slightly when Damien pulled her closer, but she still felt tension with Carmen's point. She could never picture Damien hurting her... but then again, if he lost his temper... she shook the thought away.

"It's true." Ellis interrupted, directed at Chase. "It's true, and you should believe it." He glanced at Carmen innocently.
Carmen quickly turned away, staring hatefully at the ground.
Kyler whispered, "Damien..." she paused to bite her lip, "...would you ever try to hurt me on purpose?"

Ellis was a bit taken aback when Chase snapped at him; so much so that he widened his eyes and took a step back. "Dude, chill."
Tara winced at bit at Chase too, as if she was stuck with a needle.
Kyler shook her head at nothing in particular. "But she said that the ones who hurt you the most..."
