- Right behind you, dear, Sergei hummed with a smile, and followed after his mate.

(I decided for another color for Anuli^^)

While her mother and father went for a hunt, Anuli was doing the one thing she loved most: adventuring.

And what made it better was that her brother was with her. He may be a little less enthusiastic about this, but he was older than her. She looked up to him a lot, even though she would never say it out loud.

- So, Anuli, what's the plan for today? Alek asked, with a grin on his face as his sister was usually the one leading the way on their adventures.

(I saw that^^ It's amazing!)

Anuli thought for a while and then shrugged. "I don't know," she admitted, "Maybe we could check out the Northern Plains."

She got the idea as the Northern Plains was one of the places where they were forbidden to go. It was a large span of open grassland that many of the Savannah's herds were there. So, it was also the prime spot for hunts by the lionesses from the Pridelands. Sometimes their parents also hunted there, but the Pridelanders were a lot more frequent as they had many more mouths to feed.

But, lions weren't the only predators in the Savannah. The Northern Plains also witnessed competition from a lot of other predators like cheetahs, leopards and wild dogs. It was also the reason that Sergei had forbidden the two siblings to go there as it was no place for a couple of clueless cubs. But, as most fun things in life were, Anuli had taken it upon herself to visit the Plains as soon as she could.

Aleksei stopped and raised his eyebrows as his sister mentioned the Northern Plains. Their father had strickly forbidden them from ever going to those lands, and for perfectly good reasons. Since he had always been the reasonable one out of the two, Aleksei knew it would be an extremely bad idea to go there, so he ran up to his sister's side.

- The Northern Plains? Are you insane?? Dad's told us never to go there, and you know why he's done it, he then said quietly, raising his eyebrows.

(And I was thinking, in the Plains, maybe they could get caught in a stampede and Sergei would have to rescue them)

"Well, all the fun stuff is forbidden." Anuli said. "And besides, it isn't going to be dangerous. We're just going to observe and see how it is there."

Anuli knew they needed to get an idea about that place. Who knows? She might be hunting there one day.

"You're not scared, are you?"

(Sure, also, Sergei could get hurt while saving his cubs, then they'd realize how stupid it was for them to wander to the plains? I already have some render ideas... ^^)

- Me? Scared? No way! And just to prove it, I'll walk ahead. Then we'll see who's scared, Aleksei said with a snort, walked pass his sister and added, looking over his shoulder:

- Besides, I am the oldest.

(Maybe like a tiny scar on his leg or something^^ and so do I!)

"Yeah, the oldest scaredy-cat!" Anuli teased her brother.

"You were scared of a tiny gecko yesterday!"

(Say, that sounds good^^ )

- I was not! It just... sneaked on my paw and I startled, Aleksei said with a grumpy snort. He hated when his sister teased him like this, but he still couldn't stay too mad at her because he after all, loved her, all though he'd ever admit it out loud.

"You screamed like a newborn cub!" Anuli laughed at the memory.

(I'll check them out^^ I'm doing a render now from the stampede!)

- I did not! I just... shut up! Aleksei snarled and ran ahead.

(Wow, I'm doing the same thing!)

Anuli just giggled and walked ahead. "Lets just get out of here before Mom and Dad find us."

(No way! What image are you rendering? Just so we're not doing the same...xD)

- Good idea, Aleksei agreed, raising his eyebrows, but suddenly he felt the ground trembling under his paws.

- Uh, Anuli... why is the ground shaking?

Anuli looked down and saw a few pebbles near her paw. They were jumping up and down, which she knew was not natural for a pebble. She swallowed a gulp and looked up to see something moving on the horizon. As the figure got clearer, she realized it wasn't one, but a whole herd of wildebeest. And they were headed for the two cubs!

Anuli felt a weird feeling she had never felt before. She felt her throat clog up and her stomach churn. Her head felt cold and bit dizzy as well. She choked out two words through the clog in her throat: "Oh oh"

(Oh, good. I'm rendering Sergei picking Alek and throwing him to safety^^)

Aleksei looked at his sister, and wondered why she she looked so pale and startled all of a sudden, but when he turned his head, he saw the heard of wildebeest running straight towards them. The cub's eyes widened from horror, and for a few seconds his whole body was paralyzed and he couldn't move a muzzle.

- This can't be good.
