Heather's head spun and she had to take a seat, "He... I can't live without him..." She muttered into her hands. "Can I see him?" She asked, looking up at the doctor through a thick veil of tears.

"We don't usually allow guests back in the ICU... but I'll allow you to see him..." the doctor turned, to lead her then he said "but... he's under anesthetics and won't be awake..." the doctor said leading her to atticus's room.

Heather shook her head, "I don't care if he's asleep, I need to see him." She said sternly. Once in Atticus's room she hesitantly walked over to him and cradled his hand with hers. "This is my fault." She muttered, looking at his broken figure. "If I'd ahve never met him..He's be safe..." She croaked.

The doctor walked out into the hall to leave them alone.
While she cried, amazingly, Atticus's eyes fluttered open and he blinked. He had heard what she said so he replied weakly: "Don't say that, I'd take your place any day..if it meant keeping you safe..." he said with a soft smile, and his usual steel blue gaze.

Heather looked up, shocked "Atticus?" She blinked, "You're okay." She muttered, a small smile cracking on her face. She gave his hand a squeeze, her eyes becoming happier.
