Jenna's eyes dimmed a moment, ears pinning back. But, thinking of her Grandchildren, she tensened her legs and straightened herself up dominantly.
Tai nodded, before snapping out of daze for a brief moment. "I..know, the scent's very powerful"
Kodi nodded, his own parenting instincts taking in, the abrasive scent nerving him, but he felt he needed to protect his pups. "I know."
Mr. Simpson nodded, looking a bit afraid as the dogs stopped, knowing it must've been truly frightening.

Balto looked around. "I think maybe we should continue on as fast as we can." said Balto.
"I like that idea." said Lena.
"What is it? The closest thing I'd ever smelt was a Mountain Lion." said Cachen.

Tai nodded, exerting her energy as best she could. "I...see." she smiled. "you know, Cachen, it's okay to be scared sometimes."

"I don't like this Jenna." said Balto, he whispered so not to frighten the pups. "Somethings wrong, I've never smelled something like that, its some kind of predator, a big one."
"I know but..." said Cachen, steadying himself for what he needed to say. "Our mother' and a lot of other dogs' lives are on the line. Too much depends on us getting back alive."
Something was watching them from the forest.

"You're right," Jenna whispered back, eyes roving the surrounding forest. "But, it's definately not a bear..." she said, hoping they wouldn't have to meet whatever this thing was...
Tai blinked, too astonished for words. "Goodness, you may go back home grown up yet, Cachen."
Kai's fur bristled, seeking out the eyes that watched them. He smiled. Let's hope this thing isn't too hard to fight...

"But I think its even more dangerious." whispered Balto. "And its a female, whatever it is and in heat." he whispered, most mammals heat scent was easy to detect, so he could tell. This made things even more dangerious because females in heat were more agressive than ones that weren't.
"Nah, I just care a lot about momma." said Cachen. "I don't have to grow up, I mean Grandpa never did."
The large tiger moved swiftly to a cliff on the other side of the valley, being able to go in a straight line instead of a winding path. She triggered an avalanch and blocked it and then went to the other exit to the valley.
Lena, she wasn't sure how but she saw in her mind that the path out of the valley was blocked but that the creature was waiting for them. "Guys! I don't know how I can tell but the path we'd normally take up ahead is blocked and whatevers out their is near the other one!"

Jenna shuddered, "I know, I can smell it from here." she looked around, ears pinned back.
Tai laughed softly, before looking to Lena, "What?!" she looked up to her brothers. "Lena, when you tihnk the path is closest, stop! We can't affrod a crash."
Kai looked about, growling underneath his breath, but the smile stayed. This animal...it's big.

Balto looked at Lena and then Kodi. "What do you think Kodi?" he asked. "I've learned to trust instincts like that."
"So there's a big predator on one side and a locked path on the other?" asked Cachen. "Not good."
Fang looked at his friend. "PErsonally, I trust a pup's instincts."

Jenna looked her both her son and granddaughter. "Are you sure, Lena?" she trusted her grandchild fully.
Tai shook her head. "No, not at all. The fact that this thing's not truly agressive by nature makes it even worse!"
Kai grinned. "So, this thing's a little agressive right now huh?" a fighting gleam arose within him.

Lena nodded, frightened. "Yes, I'm sure as I know I have a tail."
"Aren't most Predators agressive?" asked Cachen.
"I trust Lena." said Balto. "How do we make Mr. Samson agree to take a diffrent route?"

Kai looked back at his sister, nodding. "Great, well, we can't talk to the guy, but, can't we be able to show him there's no way of us going over the avalanche site?"
Jenna nodded, smiling a moment. "What if we got within looking distance of the blockage?"
