Kisasi could tell that he was getting closer to the lionesses when the scents started to get stronger. He could distinguish another scent that smelled familiar, but he couldn't place it. He picked up his pace until he was racing along the path of footprints.

Kisasi burst through the bushes and skidded to a stop in front of the four lionesses. He stared in surprise and shock at them. "What's going on here?" He asked skeptically.

Kisasi pinned his ears back in surprise. "Listen, I never meant to hurt you guys in the first place. I was just under a lot of stress and I exploded. I am sincerely sorry." Kisasi said almost in a whisper, hanging his head.

Kisasi froze in shock. "What?" He asked in a whisper, his ears pinned back in fear. "When?" He voice barely even distinguishable from the wind. He didn't even fight back as Mazatine launched herself at him. He was horrified at what he had done, he deserved the beating.

Kisasi crumpled to the ground. He was a monster. He had killed a poor defenseless cub. What if that had been one of your cubs? He thought. He lay on the ground shivering. He tried to keep from crying, however the thought of it being one of his own cubs was unbearable. He lay on the ground shivering and crying. He would never be able to live with himself again.
