Rue took flight, flying slightly behind Setsuko, her brown eyes completely focused on the small slivrs barely visible in the water.

Suddenly the slivers leaped out of the water. Setsuko gasped and nearly let go of the gilder in shock. She followed them still, so focused on not loosing them that she didn't notice as she entered an upsetting familiar place, darkness temporarily encasing her.

"Setsuko? We're in the cave," Rue said, stopping, unwiling to go inside agian.

Setsuko didn't hear Rue as she chased the silver. She stopped suddenly. Where was she? Where was Rue? She landed and glanced around. A deep voice sounded behind her. "What are you doing here, Setsuko? Have you completed the task? Where is Rue?" Setsuko spun back around and gasped. "Uh...Hi, Ayumu." She stuttered. "I was out exploring with Rue, and we where traveling by a river when we saw little glow-y slivers in the water. We got curious and followed them, and I guess I just...wound up...here? And no, we haven't completed the task," She added hastily. Ayumu let out a good-natured chuckle. "Congratulations, you have found the River of Dreams. It is one of the ways that dreams are transported into the Caverns of Life. Those slivers are the dreams themselves." "One of the ways?" Setsuko echoed. "There's more?" Ayumu nodded curtly. "As you continue your quest, more pathways will be opened to you're eyes. The dreams will become clearer. You may even be able to see into them." Setsuko opened her mouth to ask another question, but Ayumu was gone. She looked around quizzically, and then walked back out of the Caverns, meeting back up with Rue.

"Why didn't you stop?" Rue asked. "You flew straight into the Caverns of Life, then I heard Ayumu," she said. "You okay?" she asked.

"I found out something important," Setsuko replied, slightly out of breath from the surprise of seeing Ayumu. "I'll tell you when we get back to the cabin." She unfurled her glider and soared back in the direction of their temporary home. Seeing her fly past, Jaci, who had been waiting as patently as possible on the other side of the lake, took off after her, running as fast as he could on paw.

Rue beat her tawny wings, brown eyes curious as she flew after Setsuko. She alighted near the cabin, unable to contain her buzzing inquisitive nature. "What did you find out?" Rue asked, folding her tawny wings in, still hot from the brief flight.

"Whatever our task is, we're completing it," Setsuko breathed. "Ayumu said that those silvers we saw in the water were...people's dreams. He said that the river is one of the passageways through with dreams travel to the Caverns of Life. He said that...as we continue with our task, our eyes will be opened to see the passages of dreams, and we will be able to see them better." She shook her head in confusion.

"Maybe our task has something to do with dreams then..." Rue suggested, also confused.

"Maybe," Said Setsuko quietly, "But I haven't had any particular dreams recently...not that I can remember, leastways."

"Me either," Rue said, shaking her head.

Setsuko sighed. "Well, I guess we can only wait and see," She commented, trying to be optimistic.

Rue nodded. "So, should we finish the expodition?" she asked after a moment, not wanting to dwell on the dream/task matter right now.

"Yeah," Setsuko agreed, "But this time, let's go the other way!"

"Lead the way," Rue said, a grin starting to tug at the corners of her lips.
