As soon as they were gone, hope walk swiftly over to Sydney.
"Thought I told you to stay out of my way?" Hope snapped.
"You can't make me quit school Hope." Sydney shot back, making the blonde huff.
"Do I need to teach you another little lesson, w***e??" Hope demanded angrily, kicking Sydney roughly in the shin, and pushing her to the ground.

Adam stopped "Should we have left Sydney?"

"She's waitin' on Joan." Scotty shrugged.

"Go find Leann, "ill be right back, dude." the red head announced turning and walking back to where they had left Sydney.

Sydney grabbed Hope's leg, yanking her down hard against the concrete. Soon, almost half of Hope's posse had come over and were practically attacking Sydney.
"Why won't you leave me Alone?!" Sydney asked, earning a scoff from Hope.
"Because you think you can walk around this school, like you own everything, and like you rule the school but you don't! You're a loser! You. Don't. Have. A purpose!" Hope remarked.

Adam stopped alongside a few others who watched the scene from a distance.

Tears were quick to leak from Sydney's eyes, making Hope smirk.
"Commong girls, our work here is done." Hope said, walking off. Sydney picked up the books she dropped, and began walking back towards Scotty's car. She hopped in the bakseat, and buried her face in her knees.

Adam was the only one left, as the bystanders all melted away. He thought a moment then went over to Scotty's car, knowing he never locked it. He stopped when he saw a notebook Sydney had forgotten. He picked it up and then went over and opened the passenger side door. "Sydney?" he asked sticking his head in and looking back at her.

"Go away." Sydney grumbled shakily, scooting to the other side of the car.

Adam stubbornly got into the passenger seat and sat, "Here, you forgot this." he said handing the notebook back to her.

Sydney barely looked up to see her notebook, and took it.
"Thanks.." she mumbled.

Adam just nodded, but instead of being satisfied with that deed, he stayed sitting in the passenger seat.

Sydney looked up barely, and saw he was still there.
"Why're you still here?" She asked, her voice cracking.

The red head shrugged, "I'd rather be here with you, than in Mrs. Williams' class." he replied, as if it couldn't possibly matter.

Sydney frowned, not thinking anything of it, since everyone hated Mrs. Williams.
"Youll get a bad grade because of me..."

Adam shrugged "She's already told me I have a D... she also called me an annoying curr, who needs to be locked up in a straight jacket..."

"But If you fail a class you might fail the grade and then it'd be my fault.." Sydney countered.
