Kyler was surprised by his sudden outburst, but she melted inside and took a step towards him, hugging him tightly. "But you have so much else to live for than me..."

Kyler hugged Damien tighter when he said that, then she proceeded to wipe away a few of his tears. To keep herself from crying as well, she did something she had always wanted to tell him. She took his hand and put it over her heart. "Feel this?" asked Kyler, looking him in the eyes sincerely as her heart beat under his hand. After a short pause, she continued "I just want you to know that it's yours."

Kyler returned the kiss, bringing her arms up under his arms and around his back in a tight embrace. She felt like he was her castle, her protection, her prince, and she was his princess. In the embrace did she feel themselves connect and that they could make it through, no matter what. They stayed like that for a moment, but then Kyler pulled away, loosening her hug only slightly. She was being selfish, wanting to keep Damien all to herself. The world needed him, and here they were, hidden by the shadows of the trees. "You've always been there for me." she said quietly, begging on the inside for him to reassure her again that everything was going to be alright. "So I don't want to hold you back from your destiny."
