Setsuko stood. "Well, why don't we go now?" She asked, eager for something to do.

"Okay, let's go then," Rue said, standing up.

Setsuko set back out into the forest, this time in the opposite direction she had been before. Jaci bounded after her, glad to be going on an official 'expedition' for the first time in days. His ears twitched as he padded behind Setsuko. The young girl herself was looking around curiously at the unusual landscape.

Rue followed Setsuko, her brown eyes roving over the landscape curiously, wings lying comfortably across her back as she walked. She brushed back some loose hair that fell across her face.

There was a river up ahead, no doubt connected to the lake in front of the Caverns. It was too big to jump across, but a thick log lay atop it like a bridge. Setsuko jumped on. She stuck her arms out to balance and began to cross. Jaci followed her easily, keeping his balance well as all feline do. "Kuilak and I do this all the time at home," Remarked Setsuko and she jumped off the other end of the log, landing gently on the forest floor. "Mind you, on our expeditions, it's mostly across snowy fields, not forests."

Rue spread her wings instead of arms for balance, quickly reaching the opposite shore, stepping lightly onto land again. "I guess it would be, considering you come from the South Pole," she said.

Setsuko shrugged. "True. But still." She broke off as she noticed something in the river. She turned, glancing at the water.

"What is it?" Rue asked, noticing how Setsuko broke off

"Nothing," She muttered. "I thought I..." She gasped as she thought she saw it again. "There's something in the water," She whispered, looking closer.

"What is it?" Rue asked, twisting her head to look at the churning river.

"I'm not sure." She stared into the river, searching for traces of what she had seen. "There!" She pointed a a little green glowing thing and it shimmered, passing them quickly, even faster than the river was flowing. Another shot by, though it was less noticeable due to is aqua-blue hue. "I wonder where they're going," Setsuko murmured, half to herself.

"What are they?" Rue asked, intrigued.

Setsuko was confused for a moment. "I'm not sure." Then her eyes brightened with and adventurous gleam shining in them. "Let's follow them!" And with that, she took off in the direction of the sliver of color.

Rue followed her, brown eyes bright with curiousity

The river continued, silvers swept away with it. Setsuko continued after them. The river eventually ran out into the lake. "They're crossing the lake!" Setsuko called. She whipped out her glider and followed them, watching the water closely.
