The musher hooked the two dogs up and gave them treats, "Good boy, good girl." He said with his Irish accent.

The musher went over to Max and said, " You don't look so good. You'd better not race. Ok boy?" Then he unhooked the dog from the sled.

Max whinned at the musher, he wanted to race, but he knew he couldn`t argue with the musher. So he decided to wait until they left, and then he would follow them silently until they stopped for the night, and then when the musher found him there the next morning, he`d HAVE to let Max race then. Max chuckled to himself quietly as he layed down at the barn door.

Tony was excited for the race, he couldn't wait! When he suddenly saw Max. He frowned a little and looked at Max as he was going to be left behind and probably not race. But we need eight dogs for the team, we can't have seven! We won't win! thought Tony. He shrugged and looked forward to the path in front of him, where they were going to race on.

The musher sighed and pulled Max to his spot. He then hooked him up and then called, " Tony! Come here please!" He said.
