When they got to the park, Scout found them a place to sit. The big dog just flopped down under a tree. Atticus sat down with Heather and after a moment he smiled at her. "Remember? We first met in this park."

Heather snorted and sat down, "You mean when I was half asleep ad screaming at you to join the 99? Yes." She said sarcastically.

Atticus laughed in reply. "Still, it was our first meeting."

"I guess. I was, like, half dead than. I had been camping out for 2 weeks. Blah." Heather wrinkled her nose, "I must have lookd awful." She concluded.

"I thought you where pretty... heh, maybe that's why I was so nervous about talking to you at Starbucks the next day." he grinned.

Heather guffawed "Atticus Saprano was nervous about talking to me?" She rested a hand on her heart, "I'm touched." This made Heather crack a grin.

Atticus laughed. "Now as I recall, you didn't like me very much... I was barely able to get you to come meet me at the bar." he said playfully, kissing her forehead.

Heather smiled, a chuckled wroking it's way up her throat, "Yeah, well, you were a cop." Heather stated, "I thought all cops were the same." She scoffed at her own words.

Atticus smiled softly "If you didn't like cops, then why did you let me stop you from walking out of Starbucks? You could've walked on..." that thought haunted Atticus... the thought that he was so close to losing her... maybe he wa scared something like that would happen again.

"I wanted to give you a chance, I don't like making assumptions of others." Heather admitted.

Atticus smiled and wrapped his arm around her then laid back in the grass with her. "I'm glad. Ya gave me a chance." he chuckled looking over at her.

"Yeah, me too." She said.

A squirrel caught Scout's attention, and the dog jumped up and bolted off after it.

"Scout!" Atticus called sitting up, then standing and sighing. "Do you mind? I gotta catch him..." he chuckled, assuming she wouldn't want to come.

"I don't mind." Heather said, dismissing him and laying back down to soak up the rays of sunshine.

Atticus nodded and bolted off after the dog.

Tommy's familiar figure appeared at one of the trees, he smiled wickedly as he saw Atticus leave her alone. He leaned casually against the tree smirking as the park became near deserted with the midday rush.
