Atticus sighed and wrapped her in his arms, pulling her against his bare chest. He wanted her to feel safe, and not be afraid of anything. He wanted her to know that with all his power, he would not let anything hurt her.

Atticus didn't understand her until he looked over and saw Scout, with his leash clamped in his jaws, his head rested on the bed and he gave a small whimper. Atticus laughed and nodded"Of course we can bring him."

Heather pealed herself from the warmth of the sheets and pulled one of Atticus's shirts over her head. The shirt's that she had there were all dirty.

Atticus put on his dark grey Under Armor shirt, and changed into some dark blue jeans, and his cowboy boots. Then he hooked Scout's leash to his collar and and the dog trotted over to sit at the door while he awaited the humans.

Scout barked and nudged her hand, wanting her to pick up his leash.
Atticus came in and watched Nate disappear up the stairs with some food. He then walked over to Heather and Scout. "I think he likes you." he laughed looking at Scout.

Scout barked happily, and tugged her out the door as soon as Atticus opened it. Atticus laughed and hurried up to Heather's side, once they got out on the street he took hold of Heather's free hand, since Scout was walking at a normal pace now.
