Rio stopped drinking, and said, "I guess we sleep now. I am exhausted. Good luck with watching Sadie."
He nudged her nose then went and lied down, and closed his eyes.

Sadie's gaze lingered on Rio for a moment, a gentle, caring look in her pure white eyes. Finally, she swung them back to face the tawny sunset outside; night had come on incredibly fast.

Nothing happened while Sadie stood vigilant at the cave entrance. The night was still and calm; it made her wish she could sleep. Finally, she decided she could stay awake do longer, and padded over her Rio. She nudged him gently with her cold nose. "Rio...wake up," she whispered.

Sadie was relieved to see him stand and move; now she could get some rest. She collapsed in the spot where Rio had previously lain, the rock warmed by his body heat. The warmth sunk through her fur, and made her tensed muscles relax fractionally.

Rio watched for the rest of the night. He saw the sun peek out from the hills.
He nudged Sadie.
"Time to wake up." He said.
He nudged Grant as well.

The rest she had recieved proved to be insufficient; her muscles groaned in protest as she sat up. She blearily opened her white eyes, yawning. A small crack cut through the air as her jaw popped, and she winced, abruptly closing her mouth.
