Shay nodded, agreeing whole-heartedly. "Tell me about it," she murmured, peering down both ends of the long hallway. A small sign pointed her in the right direction, conveniently labeled "Cafeteria". "This way," she said, gesturing to the sign.

Finally, they reached it, Shay's stomach growling in anticipation as they walked into the room. The savory aroma immediatly reached her nose, and her mouth watered. She hastily walked closer to the counter where the food was being sold.

Shay shrugged. "Let's sit near the door," she said softly, inaudible to anyone but Zane's ears. "Just in case."

Shay noticed the gesture, but just nodded in return. Her mouth was becoming dry, most likely out of concern for Viktor. She sat down, the molded plastic of the chair surprisingly comfortable. She took a hasty bite of what she guessed to be roast beef. "Thanks," she mumbled around the mouthful of meat. She swallowed belatedly.

Shay smiled, her mouth luckily empty of any food. She took another hasty bite; manners had never been her strong point. She took a long, grateful sip of water, then had to ask; "Do you think he'll be alright?" she asked.

Shay nodded, though she didn't look completely reassured. "When do you think we can go see him?" she asked.

Shay nodded. "Even if Viktor ends up okay...the doctors will still probably realize what we are." She glanced worriedly at him, her brows drawn together in concern. "What do we do then?"
