Kodi nodded, smiling. "I know. Then again, who wouldn't be brave with a famous hero for a Grandfather?"
Tai nodded, smiling wide. "And all these guys in our corner!" she said, referring to her big family.
Goldie nodded, grinning. "Yea, that's how it should be."
Bashkei blinked softly, turning his head to a particular scent he greatly disliked. He glared at nothing in particular, right now at least. "All I smell is rotten meat..." he said. ...And blood... Bashkei thought, his stomach churning.

"We're a family." said Balto. "We've overcome some pretty tough challenges..." he said. Including one the kids can never know about. he thought. He looked to Bashkei. He sniffed and gagged. "Yeah, I smell it too."
Cachen sniffed the air then put his paw over his nose. "That's gross!"

Tai's face went expressionless, as if her mind had been reprogrammed. She put her head down and to the ground, eyes shut tight. At a certain range, her ability to block emotion was overridden and she felt the emotion of the nearest thing.
Kodi nodded, thinking back. Especially that one...they'll never know. he gagged as the scent, before going over to Tai. "Are you alright, Tai?' he asked, knowing perfectly well how far her powers could reach.
Bashkei nodded, ignoring the rolling and knotting on his stomach. He growled low. "Whatever's out there-because it's not just dead carrion-is following us. Right now, it's best we not act." he said, knowing bringing up a fight could potentially scare the pups, or hurt them. And no one in his family would get hurt anymore, especially after his mate's death... "Let's keep moving." Bashkei said lowly, looking to Balto.

Lena's eyes glowed yellow and she had another vision, she saw through someone else's eyes and ears, she smelled Balto's fur, which was presented to whoever it was smelling it, and they were ordered to find who the fur belonged to. The vision ended. "Grandpa, its following your scent!" she shouted. "I had a vision, I think it was Mako...I smelled Mako." she said. "At least the scent that was near the den." she said.
Balto thought about it. "Well there's no good in me heading off in a seperate direction, they probably already connected your scent to mine." he said.
Cachen thought about it. "But we can cover our scent." he said. He sniffed around and found a den, he knew what was in it. "I know this might sound weird, but probably the best thing to do is for us all to get skunked on perpose, and I found a skunk den..."
Tiga cringed at the thought but nodded. "He's probably right...no way what's following us could track our scent when its overpowered by skunk spray."

Tai gritted her teeth. "The sooner I get skunked, the better!" she grunted, maging to stand up with Kodi's help. "...Did I. Just. Say THAT?"
Bashkei nodded. "Doesn't seem like we a choice, if we don't want a fight..." he blinked, thinking it sounded odd coming from his mouth.
Goldie shuddered, but nodded. "Cachen's right. No one would follow any number of creatures that have been skunked!"

"Ok, so who first?" asked Cachen, not looking forward to it but knowing it had to be done.
Lena nodded. "Well, I'm the skunk magnet, so I'd probably be skunked sooner or later anyway." she said and walked over to the den. She held her breath and closed her eyes before sticking her head into the den. Moments later she was sprayed and staggered back out of the den. "Ok, next." she said, gagging and moving out of the way.

Goldie held her breath as Lena was sprayed. She shook her head. "This will not be a good time."
Tai nodded, getting behind Lena before gagging. The sooner she did it, the sooner it would be until all the pain was gone. She leaned in, and closed her eyes. she yelped as she was sprayed. "N-next." she gagged.

Cachen was next, but took off his bandana first, then went into the den holding his breath and closing his eyes like his siblings and getting sprayed. He backed out, coughing. "I never thought I'd get skunked on perpose."
Balto went next and when was over, he tried to shake some of the musk off. "Peeyew!" he muttered, putting his paw over his nose, as did Cachen and Lena. "Ok, I hope Katie doesn't mind us smelling like skunks."
Tiga went next, but didn't react to much, trying to be tough, despite the smell making her eyes water. "Next?"
Fang shook his head. "This is weird, but at least its a smart idea." he said, going into the den and letting himself get sprayed. He walked out and covered his nose. "Ok, Kai, your up."

Godlie closed her eyes, walking over and thrusting her head in. She was quickly sprayed. "Gross!!" she cried, coughing and hacking.
Bashkei shook his head. "You'd think we'd be a little too old to get skunked..." he joked, chuckling. He closed his eyes, putting his head in. he coughed as his head lashed out.
Kai sighed, thrusting his head in and getting skunked. He hacked, backing up and shaking his head.

"Uh Goldie, why'd you get sprayed twice?" asked Cachen, cocking his head.
Dusty looked nervious. "Uh I have a confession...I've never actuelly been skunked before." she said, embeeressed. "I'm kinda nervious about it." she said, putting her paw over her nose because of the already strong odor.
Lenatei nudged Katie. "Katie, wake up." she said. "Please."

Goldie grinned rather evilly. "To do this!" she said, rubbing her face along Cachen's back in a nuzzle, in fact passing the scent onto his body. She pressed her nose to Cachen's. "You stink." she said, laughing.
Kodi smirked. "Want a shove?' he asked, joking of course.
Katie blinked, her eyes bleary. "Wha?" she yawned softly. "I guess I feel asleep..." she said, laughing softly.

Dusty shook her head. "No, I'll just do it myself." she said. As she was talking, the angry skunk came out and sprayed her anyway. She coughed and gagged, covering her nose as tight as possible. "Oh that's as bad as I thought...I feel sick." she said and ran behind a bush to throw up.
Cachen gagged. "We all do but we're bond to give whatever is after us a hurt nose from the smell."
Lenatai licked her daughter's nose. "I think Mako's leaving soon for whatever reason he's leaving." she said. "Then we can make our escape." she said. "But how can we keep that mutt of his busy in the meantime?" she asked.

Kodi cringed as Dusty went to vomit. "It's awful, isn't it?"
Goldie laughed softly. "We;ll teach whatever it is." she grinned "Even though we'll stink to high Heaven."
Katie nodded, thinking. "He won't come down because of the stench...can you turn into something and keep him preoccupied?" she asked, thinking it the only way. "and freeze my chains before hand?"

Dusty finished and came back. "Yeah." she said, putting her paw over her nose. "Ugh...its the worst thing I've smelled in my life."
"And we do." said Cachen, smiling. "You'd think we'd be used to this by now."
"I could turn into a skunk and spray him." said Lenatai, smiling. "Ok, I'll freeze it but I need some water..." she said, looking around.

Katie looked about, before setting eyes on the food and water bowls Mako put down there. "Can you use the water in the bowl?' she asked.
