After few more minutes, he had hummed the whole song. Atticus looked at Heather who was finally asleep. He carefully laid down with her again, not waking her. He had soon fallen asleep, holding heather close.

Heather awoke early, but stayed in Atticus's grasp, wishing she could always feel so safe.

Atticus would have slept longer, but as Scout scrabbled out of bed, the heavy dog stomped on his feet. "Ouch..." Atticus grumbled, though it didn't really hurt him. He halfway opened his blue eyes and looked at Heather. "Mornin'.." he yawned, the memory of last night still fresh in his mind.

"Nothing, I'm just glad you're up." Heather said, she could bounce back from anything, that was one of the advantages of being Heather. Nothing kept her spirits down for too long.
