Kyler smiled when Damien pulled her close, and she could admit she still got butterflies every time he looked at her, every time he hugged her, every time they kissed... She walked beside him closely, loving the feeling of being close to him.
Tara glanced back at them and smiled sweetly, then looked back up at Chase. "What is it like to be in love, Chase?" she asked, for she really was curious. Tara was only a little girl, and only felt the brotherly, sisterly or friendly kind of love.

Tara thought for a moment, then added, "Is that was ellis was talking about before?" She paused to scan the ground as she stepped over a flower, not wanting to crush it. "When he was telling me that he wanted to see Kyler and he would tell me when I was older? Is that one example? Does Ellis love Kyler too?" she asked innocently.

She sighed and backed out of Chase's conversation to lightly lay her head on Damien's shoulder. "There's only one I love." she told him quietly, desperately hoping no one else heard that.
"We're almost there.' Tara announced. "I can see the water!"

Kyler smiled and stole a kiss from his cheek.
"Well well well!" boomed a hard, steely voice from beyond a thin wall of brush. The brush burned away to reveal Carmen, standing stiff with arms crossed. "Looks like the whole gang is arrived!"

A dark figure stood underneath a tree, and the shadows hid his face. "Hello there." he said as he moved his face from the shadows. It was obviously Ellis. The darkness rolled back to reveal a large, ugly red scar that ran up his neck and on the side of his face, and some permanent spots around his ear where hair wouldn't grow back. He smiled a fake, cruel smile. "Good to see you again."
