Mike continued working on his broken tail, when he noticed that somebody was standing behind him. He turned his head to look.
"Jamie?"
"Dad, it's me, Kodi"
"Oh...You come to yell at me, too?"
"No, you were right. Mom could have at least waited for you to explain why you were angry."
"Yeah, but I was..."
Mike suddenly began very dizzy and lost feeling in his body from the chest down.
"Kodi, don't argue, just get me your mother quick...I'm losing so much blood...I'm dying."

Kodi nodded and ran to get his mother,"Mom! Mom! Dad needs you!" He then found her sent and ran after it. He then saw her and stepped in, "Mom. Dad needs you. Go help him please!"
Jamie then ran to help Mike and saw where he was and ran to him, " What is it Mike? What is it?" She asked looking at the bloody puddle that Mike was laying in. She started to cry as she lied down next to him.

"Jamie...Well it's the devil herself...You must not be that angry if you came to see me..."
Mike was literally lying in a pool of his own blood. At first, it hadn't seemed like he was that badly cut up, but due to his raised blood pressure from being angry, it had caused the few lacerations he had to spurt.
"Jamie, I never wanted to make you angry like that. I am just extremely frustrated by your act before thinking attitude..."
A dizzying numbness suddenly hit Mike full force, and his body went into a fit of convulsions for a few seconds. After he stopped shaking, and the numbness subsided, he began talking again.
"Jamie, I won't have much more time unless you stop this bleeding. I'd do it myself, but I, hehe, am in pretty bad shape as you can tell."

Jamie chuckled in her head but had the same serious look on her face as before and bit her lip worried about it, "Ok. I will go find something." She then ran to the woods and within minutes she was back with some leaves and put presure on his wound. Soon the bleeding stopped and she took the leaves off of his wound and licked it lovingly, " Mike, I'm sorry I ran away. I was just upset like you were." She said and nuzzled him lying down beside him.

Mike was exhausted, but he couldn't help but snuggle up against Jamie.
"I don't want to stay here. It is an evil place, just like anywhere else we've lived. Why can't we find somewhere nice?"

Jamie smiled, then thought about it, " Well, I don't know. What about the pack is the biggest question. They haven't eaten since this morning. Lets get something for them." She said concerned.

Mike let out a strained laugh.
"Listen James, I am exhausted right now and I feel like I could sleep for an entire season. Go where you will, and hunt what you want, but I'm staying right here."

Jamie smiled and got up, " While I'm gone, keep pressure on your wound incase the bleeding starts again ok Mike?" She asked and handed him a leaf. She then ran to the forest to hunt for the pack. She brought back two does, and a buck. When she stepped in the den, after all the wolves in the pack had eaten, she gave him a huge chunk of the buck. She releaced the leave and there was no blood. She was relieved, "Here's your dinner." She smiled and nuzzled him.

Mike nuzzled Jamie back, but winced when he realized that he was wagging his broken tail.
"That man really messed me up Jamie. Even loving you hurts now," He Laughed.
Mike was trying to make the situation as light as possible, though the realization that he may never be the same again was slowly setting in. Mike new that he was damaged internally, and wounds such as that would be fatal for a wild wolf.

Jamie knew what was happening and knew what could happen to him. She lie down beside him and whispered, "Mike, I don't want you to go. I- I don't know what I would do without you." She sobbed on the inside.

"Jamie, I don't think I'm dying." Mike said softly, "But I do think we need to be realistic here. I'm not going to be nearly as active as I used to. This means no travel and definitely no hunting."
Mike stood up weakly, testing his legs to be sure he wouldn't fall over. Satisfied by the results, he limped to the doorway.
"I need to see our pack."

She smiled relieved that he wasn't going to die any time soon. She then followed him and said, " Good idea." They walked to the pack.

"My friends and family, I have an important announcement to make."
A hush fell over the pack as they saw their leaders emerge from the back room.
"As you can all probably tell, I am pretty badly injured. Now, I know some of you are still a little wary of this place, myself included, but the way things are looking, this is going to be our new home. I am too injured to travel, and I also believe my hunting days are over as well. However, I will still lead you, with the help of Jamie to the best of my abilities. I hope you all understand."

Jamie continued, " Yes. And just to make more things clear, and so people don't freak out, the fued is over. Thank you. You may back get back to your business." She nodded her head and turned to Mike, " Mike, what are we gonna do about dens? Will everyone just find a place and claim it in the house?" She asked cocking her head.
