Mike laid down on the houses rough wooden floor, still struggling for breath. The rope was still tightly wound around his neck. His tail bled from where the man had stepped on it, and it was obviouly broken.
Mike was still able to talk in a raspy voice, and he was furious.
"Jamie, you never think! I knew something wasn't right about this place. Any one of us could have been killed."((Don't worry, I'm not really angry. It's just part of the story  ))

She went up to him and grabbed the rope and felt like yanking it to where he was choked even more she was so made at him for saying that. But, instead she loosened it and let him free.All she managed to say,choked out, was, "I'm sorry for letting you down all these years Mike." She then dashed out the door and ran far away to where almost no body could see her, in tears. She left her sent though in case somebody actually cared for her.

Mike watched her go, then looked away. After a moment, he stood up and limped the opposite way into another room.
The other members of the pack stood around awkwardly, mumbling softly to eachother. Nobody wanted to get involved in a feud between their leaders. The results was guarunteed to end in blood. Everybody in the pack loved Jamie, but Mike was right. She did many times act without thinking, and it also very often led to trouble.
Max decided then to talk to his father. He had seen the terrible injuries he had gotten and wanted to be sure he was alright, plue he hated seeing his mother upset, and Mike needed to make it up to her.
Mike saw his son coming and quickly wiped away his tears, then with a groan sat up.
"Dad, are you alright?"
"No I'm not. I ache all over, and my tail is killing me."
"What about mom?"
"She needed to hear that!" He shouted, "Her act first, think later attitude has gotten us into trouble many times over the years!"
"Thats not fair! She didn't know that man was there!"
"Oh come on! We knew something wasn't right, but she ran in like the answer to all of life's problems was inside, and all this happened. It was completely her fault!"
"I'm sorry you think that way. You're wrong, and you'll hopefully find that out one day."
With that, Mike turned and walked away, not even treating his fathers injuries, in search of his mother.

Jamie caught sent of someone familiar. Hopefully it wasn't Mike. She didn't really feal like talking to him, but, it had to be done. So, maybe it was, and maybe it wasn't.

Max knew his mother was around somewhere, but the sun was setting fast, and he never was that good at folling a scent trail. All he knew was that he was lost.

Max did and soon caught sight of his mother. He ran up and snuggled against her.

Mike groaned and stood up. Can you find a wolf that is a good healer, Helga? I know a lot about healing, but I hurt to much to do it myself," He chuckled wearily.

Mike let out a pained growl and fell to the floor again. He didn't need anyone's help. He had dealt with injury in the past, and he was willing to do it again, even if it was difficult. Why did nobody side with him? He was partially right, especially with how Jamie didn't think about her actions, which had almost led to the pack losing both of their leaders. As Mike painfully worked on his broken tail, he began thinking of setting off by himself. He dearly loved everybody still, including Jamie, but if that's the way they were going to treat him for being half right, he wasn't going to deal with it.
