Er Sara. This is a topic that has nothing to do with that topic.

Dang.. This just sucks!! I knew pretty much all of 'ya except for Salty. >< I'm very sad to see you guys leaving.
Salty--> I really wish I could have gotten a chance to know ya, but I'll see ya 'round "A Wolf's Tail" forums.
Maya--> >< I'll really miss ya!! *hugs* You'll have to be on MSN a lot more now, ya know that? xD
Suka--> *eats you* I had to do that one last time. I'll really miss you! You'll have to always remember me for eating you!
Kari--> NOO! No you, too! *glomps* I'll catch 'ya around, too, though, at least. ^^
I wish you all the best of luck on everything you do!!
~Love, Tibb_wolf

I don't have time to answer everything, but :
Quote: Some time ago (some years actually) Balto Source was closer to TIB (if anyone remembes it), more like a closed comunity.
I don't agree at all, it was a closed community ONLY because there were very few members. That's the opposite, now the site is much less open than before (registration needed for doing most things...)
Well bye, I'll come back and try to take care of this next week.

As I am someone who actually helped to set up TIB originally can I just say a few things? In it's day TIB was the place to be if you were a Balto fan, working along side (not against) was Snow wolf's forum which was one of the first out there and The Balto League which is possibly one of the most famous Balto 'clubs. Although it (TBL) isn't as active as it once was and the boards are very restricted due to the yahoo style, it still seems like a place people have to be a member of just to say you are part of it. Anyway I digress, TIB was set up just to support four websites at the time, all on The Ice Cave server, that was 'The Ice Cave', Silver's Pokemon and Lion King sites and of course mine which Silver has kindly hosted for free for all these years. The layout was made that way because each website had it's own section, obviously the Balto section overlapped with the Fluke section but it was all good. I can't really say it was closed though because we have two sections to discuss anything, Whatever section and Real Life. That is definitely much more open than being told where to talk about stuff etc. Also it was a forum mainly about Balto, if you don't want to talk about Balto then there are plenty of other forums offering different topics.
As far as the older members go when talking about 'importance' I have to disagree. What I will say is that TIB was started by a close group of friends from the big clubs at the time to create something in the middle which everyone could enjoy, we had a vision for a place for intelligent conversation and respected chat, a Balto utopia. We experienced the same stuff BS seems to be experiencing now, people breaking the rules, doing stupid stuff that annoys other members. Rules had to be made and be enforced but as time goes on, people move on. Mods moved on, members moved on, some members followed ones that were banned who they were friends with and although didn't condone their actions still stayed loyal. It happens in any large community, when it is a small circle it is great but when you have 300+ members all wanting different things, expecting different stuff from mods etc, from people who do the job for free for love of the place, it starts to go wrong. Members were always equal but older members who had proved themselves in the past obviously had the respect. We had a lot of problems with new folk coming in and picking fights for no apparent reason. We also had some old folk who picked fights possibly due to the frustration of that small close circle changing, but nothing is perfect and I won't make excuses for them.
I think for me when I noticed the main change in TIB was when we had a long period of refurbishment. Silver wanted to upgrade the boards to the present state and that meant taking them offline for quite a few weeks. In this time some folk created their own temporally TIB which is now lost and even a TIB chatroom inspired by the Balto League. Also I believe about then BS was starting to get bigger and a few folks came here to chat too. When TIB finally was shiny and fresh, a lot of the old interesting topics had been lost (and some personal ones I was fond of) and it seemed in this time people had forgotten about it. Other sites were now offering that small circle community and people liked it. Now these communities are no longer small and are getting to the same size if not bigger than TIB. It is a shame in a way for TIB because after the work of upgrading, it was hardly used.
TIB although quiet these days still stands and I would like it to be seen as a nice piece of Balto fan history, it inspired a lot of individual people for their own communities or sites and a lot of folk have good memories of it, some don't but hey that's life. It would be nice to see it get a new lease of life who knows what will happen, I have heard plans of a new project though, it is going to be big, perhaps the phoenix of what was.
</history lesson 1>
