But that was an awesome find!

Same here, it really was not that disturbing.

For some people it might because usually parents don't want to see suicide in a Disney movie they think it might send bad messages to their kids

Well, to me I just see it as a cartoon, so it doesn't evoke that level of emotion in me. It's like when people say that they cried when Mufasa died, it never hit me like that.

I would believe many people would not expect a Disney movie to have a suside scene in a young child's movie.

But all the various deaths of other characters are like, totally not as bad.

I always figured she'd committed suicide; when I watched the movie as a kid, I figured she was smiling when she fell either because she committed suicide or when she fell she became content with dying over accepting help from Kiara.

I saw the scene a few weeks ago and I found it highly interesting.
Though I understand why Disney cut the scene, I think it would have been fine if they had left it. A few parents may have disapproved, but then again as many villains die horrific deaths, Zira's is quite mild; not to mention, there will always be the disapproving parent somewhere down the line.
I mean, suicide or not, either way she fell to her death; and even if she hadn't committed suicide, we all could have guessed she wanted to die anyway.

All right, to end my ramblings, I'm glad this scene exists, even if it was cut and I think it adds to the depth of Zira's character.

I suspected she killed herself when I watched it, but there is something sinister about the smile and letting go.
Also, on bad sound (crap PC) it sounded like she said 'heaven' as she let go. That would freak me out, but then I read the comments and realised that I misheard.

I don't know if would have made a major difference having that in the film, but Disney got a ton complaints on Mufasa's death by parent groups. So, I think they saw the possible backlash, so cut it. Mostly because parent's can't face answering any questions that may come from any children.

Yeah, she is smiling! And I think although kids would have watched it, they should have kept that scene.

I agree with that 100%! Much more interesting way to go, if there's any way!

Pretty cool find. I think it would've been good in the movie, though.

I noticed that smile a while ago, my 7 year old brother laughed o_o.
Yet to be honest, she still practically commited suicide. We don't see how she falls, just Kiara's face when we hear Zira part from the cliff, and if she didn't want to grab Kiara's paw, she'd die, there as no other way out, and she should've known that.
As much as I think that ending would've been cool, it might scare some young kids, though they might not even understand the meaning of Zira's words...
But then again, Tangled was rated a PG for a bit of blood and someone getting stabbed, while young children these days often play games where they shoot and kill each other...yada yada...
To be honest, now I think about it, a kid that's young enough to be proper scared by Zira's suicide wouldn't understand the meaning behind it that would make it unsuitable for young audiences, but ya know...SP was made the way it was, we can't change that XD
