Ugh, im really mad at myself right now. It's taking me way to long to finish this fiction. Had i gotten as much of it as i had planned on when i started, i would have been done sometime a month or two ago. Well, that's just me. I get really lazy sometimes. Even with writing my fictions.

Brace yourselves people, i've got another update! *Gasp*
As her mood changed from disgruntled to a half asleep, half awake cheer to an annoyed frustration with Kirby, she knew that she was just reacting the way he wanted, it was why he continued to do it. Still though, she couldn't help herself. Hearing something like that this early just irritated the crap out of her.
Now that she was past the hard part of starting a day, she was able to tuck that desire for the dream away in the back of her mind. Before getting some grub to fuel her still sluggish body, she noticed that Gunther had yet to get up too. He still lay there as if he hadn't even heard the sound of their master or her and Kirby's voice. She couldn't blame him for not getting up though. Out of kindness, she ambled over to the motionless body of the thin malamute. He didn't move a single muscle, save for his stomach rising and falling in motion of his breathing and his eyelids blinking. He wasn't asleep, but he didn't seem to be totally 'with them' but she had only occasionally seen him like that. Just about all those times, was when a crisis was playing itself out. Like when she had twisted her paw and the whole sled team were pulled down by her sudden stop. The sled had almost dragged them all off the edge of the ice. Thanks to several team members quick thinking however, they were saved of that demise.
"Come on Gunther. We better go get some breakfast before Ralph eats it all."
Secretly, Dusty was grateful that Ralph hadn't caught the words. Gunther's ears popped up and pointed toward her to better his hearing. But this proved to be the only sign that he was even aware of her presence. He didn't speak or make any movements. He simply continued to lay there and stare at the wall. There was a brief contemplation in Dusty's head that he might have some mental issues. Shaking it off, she discarded the thought and took a leaf out of Kirby's book. Lowering her head to Gunther's neck, she gave him a few good nudges with her nose. As she did this, it occurred to her that this was the first time she'd ever touched the guy and couldn't believe how soft his fur was. Why this though had any meaning to her was a mystery. But it did at least get a response from Gunther. Still, she could only imagine what it'd be like to cuddle up with him. Talk about comfy!
He lifted his chin, which had been resting on his crossed forepaws, up and gazed at her with a look of milled interest. Not sure what exactly to say, she settled for a gesture of her head toward the food that had been set out for their breakfast and a friendly smile. He blinked at her a few times. His mind comprehending what she was implying for a couple seconds before he shook his head and layed it back down.
A look of dismay settled on Dusty's face. For nearly a month now she'd been trying to get Gunther to come out of his shell but he remained adamant and wouldn't budge. She wondered what exactly scared him so much. Letting out a breath of air through her nose, Dusty looked over Gunther. He lay on his stomach, legs underneath him and paws crossed in front of him. His tail laying limp on the ground behind him. It was guaranteed that with a frame like his, Gunther wouldn't have any trouble with females. In his own right, he was very charming. The setback on him was his shyness. If only he'd open up a bit. . .
"Come on, at least sit up Gunther."
She did her best to use a warm-hearted tone to make this utterance as friendly as possible. Unfortunately, she didn't think that was the tone she'd achieved. But, to her complete astonishment, Gunter actually heeded her words. After another glance at her, he rose from the floor and sat up. Somewhat slouched over but still a sitting position. With the sudden motion, Gunther was unable to hold back a yawn. His jaws opened wide allowing Dusty to practically see down his throat. For some strange reason, she found the sight somewhat interesting.
When Gunther's jaws closed, Dusty shook herself. Unable to explain even to herself why that had intrigued her. She discarded the thought though. Sometimes she found the most odd things infatuating. A whole list of things that had been unusual but she have found them engrossing came to her mind and she had to shake her head to get them out. Gunther had been looking at her, watching her as she waited for her to do something and the shaking of her head didn't make any sense. Dusty's shake had brought her out of her head and now she saw that Gunther was fixating her with a strange look. She couldn't imagine why, but she felt the blood rushing to her face in embarrassment. Averting her eyes from him to prevent further awkwardness, she cleared her throat. She couldn't expect Gunther to break the silence. He never talked! Well, he had pronounced something to Kirby that he hadn't been able to completely catch. He'd later told her that it sounded like 'boulder'. She hadn't been able to make the connection between that word and what the conversation at the time this had passed Gunther's lips.
This was aside from the point though. In an effort to end this, Dusty forced herself to look up at him. Caught off guard again, their eyes met and it was only then that she realized just how dazzling his eyes were. They were a deep, very deep, brown with small splashes of green mixed in. Hazel. Gunther didn't show much reaction to he eye contact but the did nod his head toward the remaining to that Ralph and Kirby hadn't yet managed to devour. Reading the look he was giving her, she could tell what he was telling her.
Go on without me.
She frowned at him. Wishing he'd talk using his voice rather than body language. He was going to need some food if he expected to last through the day. Trying again, she tilted her head at him.
"Are you sure?"
He nodded his head at her and stood up. Dusty almost began to think he had changed his mind but her hopes were thwarted again. He walked in a small circle before laying back down. His body curled up and his head pointed away from her. This caused a sigh to escape her as she looked at him. The rays from the sun shining through the window making his coat sparkle. With a build like his, he could bag any female he wanted. Dusty thought.
As one last effort to encourage him to follow her (and because she wanted to feel how soft he was again), gave him one last prod with her nose before trudging across the room and join the others. While she ate, she'd look back at him every few minutes to see if he had changed his mind or even moved. It seemed he had drifted off again.
Anyone want to take a guess at which character is about to come up?
