Some people naturally choose to hunt wolves. I do not see anything wrong with that! My dad is getting me my own guns (all my fav types of guns) and I will inherit his rifles when he dies. I will ask him to get me a wolf hunting licence.

Girl, sorry to say but you got a long way to go from being twelve. And I believe you're on the wrong forum. This is Wolf LOVERS  But hunting with a license is different but as long as you don't shoot it just because you saw it. You have more of a chance of a family dog attacking you -_-

Did it occur to you that perhaps people aren't doing this for the sake of the moose? No? Well, let me explain.

Wolves hunt moose, is that correct? Well, let's say you all get your wishes and the wolf population goes way up, not out of control, but in your eyes "just right". However, the moose population is still low. No problem, right?
Wrong.

The large amount of wolves around quickly DEMOLISHES the moose population, and the moose go extinct in this particular area. What are the wolves left with to eat? Berries?

And then the wolves die out. Instead of keeping the wolf population down and under control, people have let both species die out, doing much more bad than good.

And what are the restrictions of Humans killing moose?

It's the Humans fault that moose population is low in the first place not the wolve's

ther are other ways of controlling wolves than killing them see-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_Ellis_(wolf_researcher)

I never will agree with wolf hunting.

And how is this going to keep the population controlled? The method mentioned explains how to keep a pack at bay, which is great, but humans are not controlling the population because they like the moose! Did you actually read what I said?

Yes I did read it-and I have read it again-you are probably right about what I said. I should of thought about it a bit more first-sorry.
The link I gave isn't a good example.

But if we think about it enough we may find a humane way of sorting this problem-could we not introduce more moose?

I found this ad about aerial gunning on YouTube. Just thought some of you might be interested.

Warning: There's no gore or blood, but some of you still might find it disturbing. If anyone has a problem with it, PM me and I'll remove it.

I know. It is soooo painful. I don't get it. Alot of people think that they are big, Ugly beasts, But, Really, Thier not. Wolves rarely kill people, Only if the wolves are sick. I don't know why. I know it's life of nature cry.gif , But it's horrible.

You guys sound so sympathetic. If that's how you feel, why don't some of you do something about it?

The Bush Administration is allowing 10 more days of public input before they make the final decision on the plan to eradicate as much as 600 wolves in the northern rockies. A movement called "Call off the Guns" is trying to raise a goal of $200,000 to place a nation-wide television ad to revoke it. A minimum of 5,700 supporters are needed, however, but the amount generated by their donations has already reached $180,000. Click here to place a donation.

And, Click here to preview the ad.

Not exactly true. If the wolf populations is too high for the available moose population, the wolf population will naturally drop (starvation, emigration) until there are excess moose, after which the wolves start to increase in number again. It's called a cycle, and has worked fairly well for a few billion years.

Good point Cogitor-the balance of nature :| .

Talking in general, about wolf-slaughter thugh, I often think that excuses like that are made to hide the real reasons.
I heard just the other day, from a college of Shaun-Ellis*, at his home in Devon that european wolf-pelts are worth 1,000 Pounds! :x

Humans may have some fancy technology, but we're still primitive.
Native Americans have lived alongside wolves for thousands of years, The European colonists are who's to blame. I belive that humans and wolves can live together peacefully. Humans kill wolves because of fear, they're scared of them because they know next to nothing about them, and what they do know are wild superstitions and fairytales! It's not that humans and wolves can't live together, it's because humans DON'T WANT to live alongside wolves :x

Sorry, I don't do deep very often...
