Your really stupid if you think, looks and and it being nice it everything, if you are a hardcore gamer then you should know that there is more to gaming then those parts of gaming.

Theres more to gaming than Gameplay? Isnt that why we play our Metal Gears..our Splinter Cells..our Mario's? Isnt that why we spend countless nights with our friends staying up late yelling and l;aughing at eachother. because the games have good gameplay? I think everyone should know..What the game looks like does not matter. I mean if its fun its fun no matter what. How it looks does not change that. People played the original Metal Gears because they were fun, challenging and cool, not because thye looked awesome (that was just a plus).

We fight and bicker over why its oging to be better. but if we dont get right down to the point, if a system does not have the gameplay to lead it on, then I see no reason for it to be a system. Not sasying PS3 wont have gameplay, but I only saw a few real ones. Not sayign Nintendo wont, not saying Xbox 360 dosnt. But im just saying, we need gameplay, thats all we do ina game.

If your all really wondering Assassins creed looks amazing..i wanna see what they do with it.

A long long time ago, when dinasaurs roamed the earth, people played Pong. That was the only game in the land of video games. Back then there was no other way, but to play crappy games with crappy systems. But now? Dude are you on crack?

Wii? what kind of name is that. I should not have to say more, but I will anyways. Nintendo's system will be much less powerful than Sony's.

Sony has a much better Display output. Way better audio output. The gaming network is much faster for online multiplayer games. Need I go on?

Because of the blu-ray technology that PS3 will be using for their games, the game disks can hold much more information and allows for smoother play. The PS3 has a wider following from the older crowd than Nintendo, so the games coming out for PS3 are going to be better games and more created for the serious gamer crowd.

So unless, you're a heavy stoner, a moron, or a three year old, it's plain to see. Playstation 3 is WAY better than Nintendo Wii. Unless you were planning on playing Mario Kart with it. In that case yeah you're better off with Nintendo. But I play real video games with a real gaming console.

Wikipedia is 90% wrong. Not many americans have Hi-def..so quality is a waste. as for sounde quality. Its just the same left and right stereo jacks. Unless you have optical (qwhich i have for my 360). I play Oblivion on my xbox 360. Your post feels very biased. Calling nintendo not real videogames. I dont follow. How is it? How is it better. Graphics dont make the game...neither does sound. That was proven with Pong. Didnt look great..didnt sound great..was fun, people played it.

Wait lemme think of anotyher thing. The game disk does not make the game smooth, its the processor and the ram and cpu. Not the disk spinning. The disk just holds the information to play the game.

The company has invested a lot in its new video game system, most of which has gone to the Cell chip that powers it and the Blu-ray drive that will read Sony's next-generation DVD discs. Unfortunately, a lot of the costs are being passed on to you, but Hirai says it's all part of a bigger plan.

"This console is going to do much more," he told the San Jose Mercury News. "We have made sure this is a console for the long haul. If you look at the lack of Blu-ray on [Xbox 360], what do you do if the game requires 40 to 50 GB? Put it on three discs? Let's look under the hood and see total value we are delivering to consumers."

Hirai also said that with an expected lifespan on 5 to 10 years, the PlayStation 3 is a better bet for publishers who will look to wring value out of their time spent making games.

The first real showing for the Wii was at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and while the games shown looked better than GameCube games, they were far from the lofty heights being scaled by the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

But according to ATi, the maker of the Hollywood graphics chip powering the Wii, what we've seen isn't representative of what the system can do.

"I think what you saw [on Wii] was just the tip of the iceberg of what the Hollywood chip can bring to the Nintendo Wii," ATi's John Swinimer told news site GameDaily.

"I really don't think," he said, "that it's about the [hardware specifications]; I think it's about the innovation that it brings to the table - the motion-sensing, the always-on capability, which is really cool too - the fact that the chip is powerful enough and responsive enough to be there at a moment's notice, and I think that's pretty cool for the average gamer."

In everything I've read and seen, Playstation 3 is the gaming console for serious gamers. It's not bias, but I am very picky about sound quality for example. This really is about what is important to you as a gamer. But the facts that you present have me thinking that you're not really a serious gamer. Which is not a bad thing, I'm just pointing out that the serious gamers are leaning towards other consoles besides the Nintendo Wii.

People played Pong because there was nothing else to play. My Pong reference went right over your head. I didn't say that Pong wasn't fun. I'm not saying that Nintendo isn't fun. I still play Duck Hunt. So don't get into me over that. This is an argument over capabilities. And the honest to god truth is that XBOX 360 is better than both consoles as far as capabilities go. But comparing Nintedo to Sony the Playstation 3 is just way better. Of course there are benifets and losses ascoiciated with both, but the benifets of the Playstation 3 far outweigh the benifets of the nintendo Wii.

No you're probably not a serious gamer. A serious gamer does obsess over graphic output, sound quality and other console features. You don't have to be a serious gamer to play 80 hours of video games a week. Heck I spend 15 hours a day on my computer and all that makes me is a nerd who knows her technology. If you are just playing because you like the games, then I'm sure the Nintendo Wii will suit your needs just fine. It's cheaper anyways. If that suits your needs then why spend in excess of $399 on a gaming console? We're just picky about different things.

We both have a different view on serious gamer. I myself feel a serious gamer likes games for games. and wants gameplay. Since Gamer has no real set term. Just like Nerd or Loser.

Yeah okay. I'm gonna go do some more HTML programming or something. I was gonna go play Karaoke Revolutions, but everyone's asleep now. I'm also gonna figure out how to raise the money to buy a new game console.
