With my family it's okay. My mum just thinks I'm obsessed with wolves and my dad tinks it's a good thing I like cartoons. And my big sister thinks Balto's crap but doesn't care that I like it. She just hates it when I'm watching it in my bedroom (I share a bedroom with her) and she's there.

Never cared about what people thought of, no reason to start over something like this.

Sure, sometimes its hard. But actually it is more funny than annyoing, because only one person in my school thinks its funny that I like animated movies. The rest of my friends are just kind of like, "Whatever. Like we we care what you like and don't like..."

As for family, they know, but don't really care. I know my mother is like, "Why you like this stuff?" and I am like, "Because I can"

This doesn't just follow what Balto did, but also Digimon as well. I mean, yeah; English Digimon sucks. The Japanese versions are actually intended for 14+, not 7...

Some people just are ignorant. Those people I completely ignore.

Then I said, "OK, forget I said that." By the grace of God, he did, and he didn't mention any of that, because we were on our way to another froend's house and if he did, I would have heard.

*lets out a sigh of relief* close call there!

Everyone's been in a situation where they've "died a million deaths" so to speak, if I was you personally I don't think I'd care if my friends knew or not.

For instance just recently I was on my way to a movie with a friend, and as we're driving to the theater he decided he was going to rummage through my glove box and what does he find? But the Balto Soundtrack! He tried to give me a hard time about it LOL, he said something like "Balto?!......come on man.........Balto?! are you gay?" heh to which my response was "Well it's great music, the fact that it's a soundtrack from an animated movie really doesn't matter to me, you have no idea what my DVD collection looks like do you?." He didn't have much to say after that.

Be yourself! (Even if it's hard to do, you're living a lie if you're anything else!) :D

Amen to that! Thanks for the advice, I'll try that sometime.

Still, It's not going to be easy. I actually really don't like being laughed at, because two of my friends, (or at least I think they're my friends) laugh at me just to make me ticked off because I'm known to have threatened to hit someone with a chair before. One of those guys is just interested in politics, which I seem to usually find unbareably boring, and like some of the other people mentioned here, he sticks to his opinions, so for whatever reason he can think of me liking Balto, he will still think that and tell everyone the same thing even if I give him undeniable evedence that it's false. The other guy is the same way, and he likes drawing really bad stick figures that exaggerate people to any extreme he can think of, and he acts like he's mentally challenged, when he's really not.

Fortunately, I have at least one friend that's understanding, and I hope he will understand me liking Balto.

Oh man, this will be a difficult school year...

I really hate those kinds of people. But when I can get people into it, that's when things get fun. At the end of the school year, when we were signing yearbooks, I drew a picture of Balto in Spanish Class, which I showed to my friends to sign around. I offered to draw one for each of them, and one of them even joked that I should be charging a dollar for each one. After that, the news of my great Balto pictures started spreading to the other houses and almost everyone in them, and I estimate that I must have done at least 100 "Baltographs" as I called them. It's also very true that there are some more mature things in the movie than a lot a people see. One example is the prejudice that the wolves and dogs show towards each other and their mixes. To some people, the dogs and wolves could possibly represent different races. That doesn't sound like "kiddie" to me.

Yeah, I get support from my family though they don't really want to talk about it much. My mom gets annoyed when she thinks of how I pretended to be Balto and crawled on the floor 24/7 as a six year old  She's not completely excited when I tell her about the B4 project but I think she's happy for me and not about the movie :D

With me, everyone who knows me at all knows that I love animated movies, and that I want to be an animator when I grow up. My family is okay with it. My brother thinks it's cool that I can draw it so well and that there's a community for it, but he's not really a fan. My mom thinks it's a waste of my time. My dad actually encourages it. He bought me 3 original storyboards from the movie for my 16th birthday, and he unintentionally introduced me to the fan community when he found a Balto website one day. He also encouraged me to post my artwork. My close friends know I'm obsessed with Balto. They just laugh with me because I laugh at myself for liking it so much after 10 years of being a fan. I draw it at school when I'm bored, so yeah random people who see me drawing it either go "you really like drawing wolves, don't you?" or "hey, isn't that Balto?" or "you're really obsessed with that Balto movie, aren't you?" or if they see it from across the table (upside down to them) they go "Is that Mufasa?" lol. only one person has done that. People who aren't really close to me poke fun at it briefly, but i'm not constantly harrassed about it.

I'm surprised at how many peoples parents don't like them liking Balto, my mum watches it with me sometimes and she likes it too, she'll be seeing the B4 fan-trailer Drew and GK are doing and she does'nt care that I like animated movies, my dad...well I don't really give a monkeys what he thinks, he can get lost but I'm still quite surprised at how many parents are slightly against it.

Now that I'm going to be 16 soon, I better just screw my reputation (Being a good thing, as I hate keeping stuff inside of me), and just not keep my passion for Balto secret anymore. I'm not going to be telling everyone that, but I'll just not minimize this window whenever someone comes to look at it. If they laugh, I'll just say, "I don't give a crap what you think. Get a life."

Yeah, my cousin gives me greif. She said that I was sad enough having the DVD.. but the plush?! She couldn't get over it. But I think she's over it now. Most of my family know that I love both dogs and wolves. They're used to it.

As for my little sister, she's there addicted to The Labyrinth and moans at me because I'm 'addicted' to Balto. She says my Balto plush is ugly but I needn't mention the fact that I saw her in my room the other day playing with both my Pongo and Balto plushes. I know she's got her eye on my Jenna too.

Whilst my nan, she's glad I still like cartoons and haven't been overun with the computer animated movies. She says cartoons amaze her.

I'm not sure if all my friends know that I'm a Balto fan. The first thing they think when they think of me is Disney fan since I am. I've never been given a hard time about that yet. So far all my friends are kewl with me liking animated movies.
