The problem with the "DISK READ ERROR" wasn't the games it was infact the system. My friend came to me with his and told my upfront that he had put a brand new copy of FFX into his PS2 gentally and it still wouldn't work. Why? Cause the first line of PS2s had a faulty lazer. Some times you got lucky and all it needed was adjusting, but if people are going to dish out 600 bucks for a PS3 it had better work right. And they better make the outside shell be able to withstand a decent drop!

Did u ever see the stress tests? Your lucky it didnt break. PS2 was one of the flimsiest systems out of the three of that gen. Game cube was the strongest followed by Xbox.
If ur system works or not depends on luck..I keep mine as if they came out of the box. Im kinda ocd about them.

Same with me, except the soda, I've spilled water on it though.

Nintendo's consoles are always super sturdy.

I say: down with nintendo
Sure i was a die hard fan back then when they made the nintendo, and the super nintendo.. but the fact is.. that they are out of the game...
they have made majestuous games like zelda and some others.. but i wont spend lots of bucks just to play one or two games, that cost more than 40 dollars.
PS2 games are considerably cheaper, they have a WAY larger and wide variety selection, and yes.. i hate nintendo for not joining the online crew, they are supossed to make "Revolution" but all i see are obnoxious ways of gameplaying.
i still play most of my ps2 games thanks to their online capabilities, and im still amazed to see that new games spawn off at the local video centers.
game cube was surely a deception.... if i was to choose a console if sony dissapeared.. i would go with microsoft option.
im sure PS3 will be the lead once again.. but lets not give opinion about that till we have all played the console

The price doesn't scare me, if you think $599 is alot well here its $999 with out tax and well doesn't scare me and to me its worthit.
One of the reassons why its that much is because of the blue laser that sony invented, which the PS3 games are so big in space you can fit 15 whole DVD movies on one disc, Ps2 disc maybe 2, Xbox disc maybe 2, Xbox 360 maybe 4 and game cube ether one or none.
There is alot of other kick beep things about it aswell.
Here is a site where you can find lots of info on the PS3 and the Wii holy crap thats a stupid name.
Also there are pictures on the Wii and Nintendo Revolution and some of the new coming nintendo products, same with sony and xbox products aswell.

I found a few things about the PS3 that I didn't know before.

*rolls on floor laughing* Sony didn't invent the blue laser. No game holds as much memory as the Blu-ray disks have..its a waste of space and money.
You obviously know nothing..since xbox 360 disks are still from last i remember Dual Layer DVD-roms...so they hold just as much memory as an xbox game and a PS2 game.
Pretty much..dont say unless you know.
Also more proof on the WIDESPREAD Disk Read Error problem(well it syas how to fix it therefor it must have been widespread) http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars

If you all think Sony is trying to make alot of money off of the PS3, they stand to lose $300 on each system. It costs $900 to make the system, then in 3 years it'll drop down to $320 to make.
