With more money they could have hired maybe more caring animators because the ones that worked on this one reallly didn't seem to care what they did as long as it was finished and done with.

i found the animation to be quite beautiful, but that's holding my own.
some expressions could have used some work, yes, but i LOVED the cave sceen with maru, with the gems glittering and such.

Ugh! I agree...WQ was corny...Not to mention the animation was SOOOO bad!! Balto 1 was so beautiful, but WQ totally ruined it, because that spiritual stuff...Balto wasn't about spiritual things nor was it about spirit guides!!! Plus, WOC was even worse! The animation was just terrible compared to both Balto and Balto 2, and the songs (in my opinion!) were even MORE worse... I tryed my best not to compare Balto 3 to the first one, but I couldn't help it! No matter how "cute" Balto looked in some scenes, it was just so stupid!

Huh?
Fewmets to you!! XD I though WoC was a MAJOR improvement upon WQ. What WQ did to make the animation seem so corny was that it mixed 2D and 3D art. Most of the transitions didn't work out too well, so having that 3D-totem pole just POP out of a flat background didn't seem too appealing. But at least WoC was all 2D.

I don't know what's happening with people giving bad opinions to WoC, but I really can't see how you can say that WQ was better animated than WoC. Are you sure you've seen both films?
To me WoC is still much better than WQ on nearly all points of view...I believe the only reason people disregard it is because the story is only about sled dogs and not wolves.
In fact, WoC used as much if not more 3D for backgrounds than WQ, but it was really much better blended with 2D.

Wings of Change is a whole lot better than WolfQuest.

i think the reason why i did'nt enjoy WoC as much was because there was'nt a villan. i so acustomed to that i guess ^_^; i have to admit, i did like sean astin's voce acting.

Hmm.
I believe that the crew of Wolf Quest took a risk by making something different; I guess they decided not to make just any typical sequel, but one that mixed new age thoughts of spiritual guidance and magic with Balto and his daughter. I mean, in New Age religions, Wolves are one of the highest animal spirit guides for someone to have. (Yes, I did research on this . . . gosh, I gotta write an article about this one day . . .)
About the animation, I believe they experimented with that too. Because of their experimentation in Wolf Quest, Wings of Change was able to achieve a (IMO) "sense of perfection" with their use of combining 2-D and 3-D animation and backgrounds. Yes, some of the animation was quite beautiful in Wolf Quest (the cave scene where Muru "guides" Aleu, the backgrounds, the dream sequences), but it wasn't perfect. Wings of Change, however, had fewer imperfections (animation-wise), due to learning from previous experiences.
And the thing about villains, WoC did have a villain; it was "change" basically. The same could be said about WQ - Balto learned how to deal with his changing daughter, Aleu had to figure out her destiny, and things had to change in order for things to work out the way they did.
Honestly, I think both films are equally good (now that I think about them some more): WQ had a different sort of feel to it, while WoC improved on what WQ lacked most.
Truthfully, I don't see why people don't like WoC . . . Balto was a mix of the wolf and sled dogs, WQ focused mostly on the wolf, and WoC focused on the sled dogs. So what? That's not a good enough reason to say that you hate it.
Blah. My rantage is over . . . .

I have more or less the same opinion as Juuchan. I would still add that the animation in Balto 3 was still far from the quality of the original, and I fear it will never be possible to have such a good animation again...
Especially when you see that no traditionally animated film has come up to this quality these last years...A good proof : Curious George. While this film is excellent, the animation really isn't up to the quality of Balto.

yeah, not the best thing to say to the guy who helped spawn you.
The animation's only crappy because Universal didn't want to spend too much time and money on a DTV movie. It Balto II was planned to be put into theatres, Universal would have put more effort into it.
It's a sad truth; DTV movies are both inaccuate in animation terms and voices.
