I find that the character's being hurt, makes the reader more empathetic toward them, in other words they feel sorry for them. Also Peril is an excellent tool to "hook" a reader (or veiwer) having this threat of enourmous pain, and/or consequenses hanging over the charater's head, it grabs a reader and keeps them reading, especialy if you don't reveal much about what is happening, just enough so that they understand it, then unroll the story as you go.
So yes, I'm all for Balto bleeding, or any of the other characters.
Someone (I can't remember now, who it was) wrote something to the effect of what would an adult Balto film be like?
If you want to see, read some of my newer FANFIC's. I don't know why, but I'm starting to stray from the "little kid" mentality that I tried very hard to maintain in my first three.
My newest ones (Balto When Love Goes Sour and, Balto: A Broken Trust) have been touching on more... adult subjects, and yes, they do have blood in them, and character's do die.
On that note: I've been thinking about something that none of us Balto fans really want to, but it is, after all, inevitable.
How would Balto die?
Would it be on some crazy adventure, or would he grow old with his mate (Jenna) and be surrounded by family and friends, or would he finally push his body, and soul to a limit that they just cannot handle?
I don't know, I was working on an idea for it, but just tryingto write down notes for it, I got teary eyed, so I don't know if I can write it, if I can, should I?
Thanks guys,
I just LOVE the site Steete, the best out there!
Here's to Balto!

well considering in real life a lot of the sled dogs died from drowining in their own blood i think it would be......rather disturbing to animate that, like sure SOME blood around paws, nose and muzzle would be acceptable but i mean,...the epidemic made a huge chunk of(WARNING! HIGHLY DISGUSTING!) of just disease in the back of your throat and you suffocated to death. nice eh? i mean doctors had to check up on patients and they descrivbed it as a bleeding mass of disease and virus. that would not be good to watch! little rosie would be coughing blood all over balto!

Now that would be funny!
Well no, I don't think they will ever put blood in the sequels, they would be too afraid of getting even a PG rating...

Mmm, I see what you mean, although I'm not 100% sure this is blood. It could also be an effect.
