'Yes, sir!' said Jot eagerly. He whipped around and crawled off towards the camp.

'Yes, sir . . . ' said Imammu, feebly, giving a salute with his tail. He turned to the other hunters, then grinned uncertainly at Kelly. 'Uhhm . . . Circle around?' he suggested.

Jot, upon reaching a good distance away from the sight of the herds, straightened himself. His shoulders felt stiff after all that crawling and ducking down and weaving through the grass. He peered around at the plain on which he now walked - the grass was shorter here, with a few trees, and patches of bare sandy soil here n' there - he remembered clearly that he had come across the skinny grey lion lying in the middle of one of these patches, among some rocks.

He turned to Wavivu. 'Not far now, your . . . Greatness!' he smiled. 'Just looking out for some rocks!

Wavivu felt a mix of excitement and fear as he followed Jot through the sandy plain. He didn't like kicking out elders, but he had to keep the pride safe. Finally, they came across a line of rocks. Wavivu cocked his head at the sight.

beyond the perfect line of rocks, a emaciated lion was grinning. ''la da oop de doo!'' it sang.

''poor thing, he's lost his marbles,'' thought Wavivu.

Ave thanked her and dropped himself closer to the ground.

Meanwhile, Kudan who had stayed to look after his elderly friends, Jafiya and Obbler, sat down in front of the two.
'Do you need anything, Sirs? Water? Food? I could catch you a mouse or something. I know where a few are and - '

'I'm good thanks, Kudan,' said Jafiya, rolling on his side in the sunlight.'How about you, Obbler?'

Chriki sighed getting off her sunning rock and trotting off not really caring if anyone followed her as she left the camp she heard a strange noise coming from some bushes her hackles raising as she turned to face the noise

Kelly nodded her head with a smile and moved her tail swiftly. She then moved forward beginning to get in to position, her baby blue eyes looking closely. The thought of seeing any enemies concerned her however.

Rin nodded. "Don't worry Ave! Of course you can." The pretty ginger lioness replied eagerly. Nothing could be better for her. He and Jot meant the world to her

Imammu felt less nervous at his mate's confidence. 'Okay,' he huffed in a sigh, and tried to relax. 'Ave, can you and Rin circle clock-wise? Rin stays at a point west of the herd, while Ave keeps on until he reaches a point north?'

Obbler opened his small amber eyes, slitted slightly in his old age. The dark, near-black patch on his back was starting to silver.
'I had a vole a day ago . . . I'm fine for food,' he said. 'Water would be nice. But I'll go and get some myself. Stroll, Jafiya?'

Jot was staring at the skinny lion lying on the ground. 'Hey, another one!' he cried in excitement. He turned to Wavivu. 'They come in all colour varieties!'

He leaned down to speak to the elderly soul. 'Hey, excuse me, sir, have you seen another lion like you who looks like he's fallen on bad times, only dark grey?'

'Suits me,' said Jafiya, slowly pulling himself up. 'Do you mind staying here to help watch the pride for us, Kudan?'

Kudan bowed.' Of course not, Sir.'

'Thanks, now come on me old feller,' said Jafiya, helping Obbler up. 'I can't wait to get me old bones working.'

Obbler shuddered as he rose, and he tottered along by Jafiya's side.

'I must let Safi know I'm going for a walk.' He stared around, looking for his mate . . .

Chriki froze suddenly her eyes narrowed "if you clam that you don't want to hurt me then come out ! It will end much worse if I have to find you !" she said to the voice looking around to see if she could spot the owner of the voice
