I thought the same thing when I watched the DVD last! I actually will watch it soon...But for now, I think it's blood.

Although it does appear to look like blood there are two things that tell me it's just snow.

1) and obvious one for me is that blood would not clump up into large ball like shapes no matter how much blood came out.

2) The snow does not come from under his head where he hit it, but actually to the side of him.

XD I could also note that the place he hit his head is also a snowy part of rock, you can see that just before Steele flings him.

BUt even after this, I like to think it's blood ^ ^ XD.

Hmm, we need a slow motion of that scene

I donno if we really need it in slow motion, I mean everyone’s practically dissected the pics of that scene a hundred times over....

Well if we played it in slow motion, maybe we could see where the "blobs" came from: head or snow

Well I didn't necessarily think about that......I'll go ahead and play that scene in slow motion and try to export it into an avi or something.

It could be both... Blood wouldn't fly in the air like this... but snow would.
But it looks like a liquid... hmm I think its snow, because it is late evening in that scene, so the sun would fill the whole landscape with orange light.
That's why the snow looks reddish.

I dunno, Simbasguard is right, it does look like blood in slow mo. I emailed Universal btw, and asked if they could send me a copy of the storyboard (which would have cleared a lot up), and they answered saying that they didn't have it! I find that highly unlikely
