Erebus looked at Rex and said "Yes. That is right. If I am not mistaken the leaders consist of a Geodude and an Onix. It would have been a tough fight if we didn't have any special moves but we do. I have Iron Tail anyways. Do you know Bite and not the playful kind either?"

Erebus nodded and said "You'll do fine. I'll go first and you'll be my backup if I do faint. Is that alright with you?" He stopped walking and said while looking at Rex "Is it okay if we go challenge that gym now? I want to get that first badge but if you still want some time to get used to this new life of yours then that's fine too."

Erebus smiled and said "I already thought of that and the answer is really simple. You just carry them and go to the Pokemon Center if you don't faint as well. If we both faint then we both get teleported to the Pokemon Center together. Take the Pokeballs." He held out the Pokeballs so Rex can take them and said "For right now you are the leader. If you don't like being the leader then I'll be the leader from now on and never ask it of you again. But if by happen stance you do like it then we can both be leaders of this group. We will most likely get more friends as our journey continues so they'll have to listen to you too if you do decide to be a leader."

Erebus smiled warmly at Rex and said "Life is too short to be not trusting other people just because you just met them. I always give people a chance because I hope that they would do the same for me. And remember the same could be said of you. You trust me enough to lead you so why shouldn't I return the favor?"

Erebus chuckled to himself and said while blushing out of embarrassment "Forgive me for my stupidity. Here's a bag of your own. I have 5 of them in my own bag and forgot that I didn't give you yours yet." He took Rex's pack out of his own and put the Pokeballs in that bag. He handed that bag over to Rex and said "Here you go. I am sorry for that."

Rex blinked. "Well...I guess go in and try to beat the gym..." he said. He then sniffed the air and gagged, covering his nose. "Yuck! What's that smell?!"
The door to the gym opened and a Stunky slowly walked out, looking at a new badge. "Well, that wasn't too hard."

An Eevee walked out with the Stunky while giggling wickedly and said "Wasn't too hard at all. Can't believe the league would make us waste our time with the likes of those 2. Didn't really do anything to us."
Erebus looked at the duo and said "That's not a nice thing to say! Shame on you." He looked at the Stunky and said "You really need to find something to cover your stench with. I'm sorry but it's the truth."
