Ghost hadn't joined in the fight against the enemy wolves. The white female stood a few meters off from the healing den, hiding in the shadows the dense trees casted over her; she could clearly see Tornado, Blaze, and a few healers there, at the den's entrance, but Ghost had no intention of adding to the crowd herself due to the fact that she knew that they might just overcrowd poor Snowlight in there and make the younger wolf feel uncomfortable. Ghost knew from experience that an uncomfortable wolf healed very slowly.
The white wolf sighed lightly and lied down in the grass. Still under the shade of the pines, Ghost placed her head on her paws and watched the others with golden-brown eyes.
Tornado got up and trotted off, Ghost guessed he was going to hunt or something like that, and Blaze went into the den. Ghost sighed again. She felt a little responsible for Snowlight's current condition; I should have gone and fought for her safety... Closing her eyes, Ghost mentally scolded herself for not doing so.

Loki had heard all of the commotion and ran to see what was the matter, but when he arrived, the large wolf could see a a battle taking place. Not wanting to get involved with the Vanished Dream's wolves, who would probably attack him after they finished off the other rogues, Loki backed up a few steps. As much as he wanted to watch, he knew that if he stuck around, he too was in for a fight.
Loki turned and trotted of deeper into the pine forests. As he went, his silver-gray and black tail swished slightly, hitting any tall plants or small trees he had already passed by. After a while the lone male changed his mind and headed back to the Vanished Dream territory, only this time he circled around to his left and came back on the opposite side of the battle grounds, a few meters from where he was at about an hour ago.
From here, he could get a good view of the pack. Loki sat on his hunches and saw a few of what he guessed were healer wolves standing around a den. There was also a black wolf he had seen fighting earlier and the large brown and black male who fought too was there. Narrowing his eyes to get a better look at them all, Loki saw a white wolf off to the side of the group. He scoffed at her when he noticed that she was watching the healers and males intensely.
The black male caught Loki's eye as he turned and headed off and the brown and black one dashed inside the den just as the other left. Loki scoffed at his actions, but he kept watching.

Tornado could feel that he was being watched, pinning his ears flat he looked over and spotted Loki almost immediately. He let a deep growl slip from his throat, thinking that it was a wolf from another pack coming to finish off the job. He turned and put his left leg down onto the ground, every nerve in his arm burned and stung but Tornado ignored it. He set his eyebrows and glared back at the wolf. His fur bristling up and his eyes a blood red from all the strain the collar was putting on him. He watched him right back, turning and facing him directly. He still had fight left in him.

Loki stayed put, sitting completely still in his spot. He didn't flinch as the black wolf turned his way and growled. Loki could clearly see Tornado's fur on edge, red eyes narrowed...
This is when Loki decided to speak up: "I'm not trying to fight you," he said calmly and scratched at his own collar.

Tornado had heard that lie before and knew it all too well. He did take notice of the collar around his neck. "They got you too huh." He said and sat down. His collar was different and personally, it looked better than the one Loki wore. He kept his eye on him but did attempt to pull his own collar off. Failing again and again.

Snowlight got up and walked out of the den.She walked to Tornado and saw a diffrent male.

Tornado took a few seconds to glance over at Snowlight, picking his paw up off the ground before it got sore again. He would have to hop along on his back legs if he wanted to walk from now on. He couldn't bear the pain much anymore. He returned his attention to the other wolf and sat down. A bit more on edge now that Snowlight was outside in plain view. He didn't want her to get hurt or carried off by another wolf. He took a deep breath, ready to spring into action.

"Yeah," Loki replied and took a look at his own collar. He realized how tight it was and scowled at the thing. Returning his attention back to Tornado Loki could see the male trying to get his own collar off.
The smaller wolf that had gotten attacked earlier caught his eye and Loki gave a wolfish smile. "Well I see you're feeling better," he called out to Snowlight, friendly sarcasm playing his his voice. "Oh don't worry, I won't hurt you." He looked at Tornado. "I won't hurt her." And he meant it; though Loki was a trickster by heart, he didn't dare anger this male wolf and have him and the entire pack after his tail.

Ghost saw Snowlight hobble out of the den and into the forest where Tornado had gone off to earlier. Almost immediately, the shaman hopped to her feet and followed the younger.
When she finally reached Snowlight, Ghost saw that Tornado was standing in front of an unfamiliar wolf. Clearing her throat, Ghost strolled up to Snowlight's side and said, "I think you should head back to the den now. You know your father might worry..." She looked at Tornado then eyed the other male

Tornado simply put his ear off to the side to hear the other wolf coming up on his side. He did want Snowlight to leave but he knew that he wasn't going anywhere. He was going to maybe sit and chat with this wolf a bit longer. Or maybe he would attempt to pull his collar off again. He wanted the darn thing off badly but he needed help in order to do it. He took a deep breath. "Tornado." He said, looking at the wolf again. He wanted to know the name of him now.

Loki suddenly tilted his head up to the sky. It was still blue like it was a few minutes ago...
Averting his gaze back down to the black collared canine, the wolf cocked his head to the side. "What?" And then it hit him. Loki chuckled at his own mistake and said, "My name's Loki."

Tornado offered no smile but he did quietly chuckle. The wind whisked in and out of his fur and it sent a warm breeze to his skin beneath the thick layers of fur. Tornado shook his head. "What pack?" He asked, looking the other wolf over. He could tell that he wasn't like many of the other wolves he had met before. There was something tricky about this wolf.

Loki uttered a tsk. He rose to his feet, but stayed put.
He was getting bored just sitting there and holding a conversation with this Tornado guy, but at the same time Loki didn't want to move just yet. He could clearly see that Tornado was a bit on edge and he didn't want to make him feel like he was in danger or anything like that. Lone wolves don't need a pack," he finally said, the pitch in his voice lowered.

Tornado nodded once, "I can understand that. Best life a single guy like me ever had." He said and stood up. He turned and began walking away. He said single so that nobody knew he had a mate before. So that nobody knew of his pups that he lost. The only loves in his life that had been taken from him. He knew questions probably wouldn't follow him this time.

Loki thought he had heard a tiny bit of sadness in Tornado's voice, but dismissed it. He watched him trot off and turned and headed off as well.
As he went through the pines, the silver-gray male kept his nose to the ground to see if he could pick up the scent of any small birds or rodents that had been across the path before he had gotten there. Not too soon after that, Loki's sharp sense of smell picked up a snowshoe hare's scent. Loki upped his pace and headed to the left to find his potential meal.

Tornado went deeper into a forest and hurried to find a spot and lay down. He took a deep breath and took a moment to give out a long lonely howl. He missed his mate more than anyone could ever think. And on every anniversary night, Tornado let out a howl. Hopping that she'd follow his howl back to him. But every month, it was just a disappointment. Tornado gave up after a few minutes, laying his head down.

A long, lonely-sounding howl echoed through the dense forest of trees. Loki stopped dead in his tracks, ears erect and rotating toward the lupin sound. A few seconds was all it took for the cry to register in his head as the voice of Tornado, the wolf he had just met not too long ago. Loki grimaced. "Must be looking for his mate," he said and put his nose back to the leaf and twig-covered ground to pick up the hare's scent again.
After relocating where the trail led, the sliver-gray male trotted along that path until he came to aclearing where there was not only the rabbit whose trail he'd picked up, but about three or four snowshoe hares. Crouching down in the underbrush, Loki licked his lips. A decent meal. Finally.

Ghost headed back to the pack to see that not many of the other members were there. Echaling through her black nose, the white wolf slowly made her way over to her own den. It was crudely dug into the side of a dirt mound located underneath a large pine tree's roots. Sleepy-eyed and yarning, Ghost slid into her dusty yet warm den and immediately curled into a ball. She burried her nose into the fluff of her spring coat and closed her eyes.
