Adam:: He stood over the sink. Looking over at Sage. How does she look then? Adam said, he wasn't trying to prive to deep into Sage's personal life. He knew that Sage wouldn't mind though. Sage smiled deeper, still sitting at the table. Sage took a deep breath again and began,
She's got shoulder length brown hair, hazel eyes, fair skin. He paused. She's slender, and got a nice body.
Adam and Sage looked at each other for a minute and burst into laughter. Adam looked at him and shook his head. Easy Sage, don't excite yourself. You can see her tomorrow. Sage sighed happily and looked at his father.
Dad, she's so beautiful. He said. She's a cheerleader and she plays soccer! He said. Like he was proud of her. Adam shook his head with a grin. Oh. Adam said. The phone began to ring and Adam made a face, walking to it and picking it up off the receiver. Hello? He said, waiting to either hear Jake or the police station. He was always prepared for any news. Good or bad. Sage pulled out a year book and a sharpie. Opening it to the page with her picture on it. Sage smiled and put a heart around her picture.

Adam:: Alright. I'll be there in a minute. He said and put the phone down. He stood there for a minute and turned to Sage. Sage, did you give Sarah the house number? He asked. Adam knew for a fact that he didn't give her the number so Sage must have. Sage shook his head, "She might have found it because I had it written on a piece of paper to give to the girl I like but I dropped it." Adam nodded some. Thank you for being honest. Now go get a shower and get to bed okay? He said. Sage nodded and put his stuff away, taking it to his room before going to get his shower. When Adam heard the water beginning to run upstairs he nodded. Jinx, He said, the big shepherd lifted his head. Protect. He said and pointed at the stairs. Jinx barked once. Good boy. He said, walking outside and locking the door. He began down the street, he had a truck but he only used that when he really had a long ways to go. Withen minutes, Adam was at Sarah's house. He walked up the steps, not seeing the beds. He knocked on the door and waited for her to answer it. He didn't know anything about her adopting Haley and Mason.

Adam:: He walked in the house as she opened the door. He took one look at the kids and grinned some. When Sarah introduced them by his name he put one hand up. Hi. He said and looked over at Sarah again. He stood at the end of the bed she didn't have and just held it. He looked at Haley when she had said that and then at Sarah as her face turned red. He shrugged. I don't mind. He said plainly and lifted one end of the bed no problem. He noticed the movies and ignored the rest of them. He pulled off his jacket and lied it down on the arm of the couch, he picked it up again and began walking with it. Directing it so Sarah wouldn't fall and get hurt. When that bed was upstairs and in the room, he put it gently down and went back down the steps. He picked up one end of the other bed, he didn't need any help with it. And plus, he thought Sarah to be weak. Adam picked up the small bed and went upstairs with it. He placed it in the kid's bedroom. Adam looked at Sarah. I'll get going. He said, it really didn't make much difference to him if she was ready for him to leave or stay. He hoped she wanted him to leave.

Adam:: He felt hands go around his arm and he looked at her. He really didn't want to. "I've got a son to get back to so I guess I can watch half of the movie." He said and looked at her. Adam saw the kids run past him and thought something might be downstairs. Adam looked at them and then at the door. "Hold on." He said and walked down the steps quietly. He looked in the living room. Looking around and out the window. He came back up the steps and looked at Mason, sitting on his bed. "Whats down there your scared of? I'm a cop, I'll handle it." He said and looked at Mason, pulling the blanket off his head a little bit. He didn't see any wounds on him so nobody could have hurt him. He looked at Haley too, thinking that she might have a cut or something on her. He pulled the blanket off her head too.

Meanwhile...

Sage:: He finished getting a shower and went straight to bed. He didn't fall asleep immediately but he did fall asleep shortly after. Sage had a dream that he got a call and the people on the other line had said his father had been shot. Sage woke up sweating and crying. He looked around his room. Jinx. He called, the trust shepherd coming to his room and jumping on his bed with him. Sage patted the dog and wiped his face. Going back to sleep.

Adam:: He shook his head and looked at her as she coaxed him in the bedroom. He looked at the movie she had put in. Nothing ever scared Adam, other than loosing his son. Adam watched her put the movie in and sat on the bed next to her. He didn't like getting to friendly with women because his wife had died a year ago. His wife of 15 years. When she pushed play on the movie he relaxed a bit more. Adam wasn't very relaxed but he was relaxed enough to let his arms down a bit. Adam began watching the movie with Sarah. Thinking about his wife and how she would always grab his arm and bury her face in his arm during scary movies. He missed those days dearly. He watched some of the t.v and looked at his watch. Adam looked away from the t.v for a moment and looked at Sarah. He missed his wife so bad and he noticed how much Sarah was trying to be with him. How much she was actually trying. Adam thought about it and lied down beside her, just watching the movie. He wasn't looking for love at all but he would be as soon as Sage was okay with this lady. If Sage wasn't happy, Adam wasn't happy. Adam was lost in deep thought, he still wore his wedding band too. When his wife died, he never took her ring either. As far as he was concerned, he and her were still wedded. Even though it was recorded that he lost his wife. Adam sighed quietly.

Adam:: He noticed her jump and grab him. Something inside him made him put his arm around her. Maybe it was his wife's ghost, moving his arm for him so she could make him happy. Adam looked at her a little bit, She died last year. He said and sighed a bit. He looked at Sarah again. I used to put my arm around her when she was scared of movies like these. I used to get her everything and anything she ever could've wanted. I just miss her, that's all. He said, knowing he was getting off the topic. Adam looked at the movie and then his pant leg. He sighed quietly and after a while he tensed back up a little bit. He looked off, away from the t.v. Adam was thinking about Sage. Adam looked at Sarah and then at the phone next to her bed. Adam knew Sage was asleep and didn't want to wake him up, he needed the rest. Adam began thinking of other things, trying to get his wife out of his head. Adam looked at his wedding band and it nearly made him get up and leave Sarah's house without saying anything to her or anyone. Like he needed a moment to ask his wife if he was doing the right thing. Adam just lied there, starring at his ring.

Adam:: He nodded. I'm sorry to hear about your husband. He said and looked back at the movie. He felt Sarah get a little bit heavier on his chest and arm, which caught his attention. Adam looked at her, laying her head down on the pillow and getting up. Adam let himself out of the house, locking it from the inside. He made the walk home and unlocked the door with his key. Adam walked in and went straight to his room. He got dressed in night pants and his boxers but that was all. Adam went to bed finally, covering up in a thick blanket and falling asleep. Jinx came down to investigate immediately. Only finding his master asleep in his room. Jinx ran downstairs and leapt onto the couch. Soon falling asleep there too. Adam slept for the whole night. Only awaking once to move around on his bed.

The next day...

Adam:: He awoke bright and early at 5:00 o'clock sharp. He walked to the bathroom, grabbing a quick shower and putting on some fresh clothes. Adam went to the kitchen and got Sage's breakfast ready. Soon Sage came down on his own and looked at his father. Sage was a good kid.
